Chapter 65 - Overthink

Madeline's POV

It was much later during the day, after leah and I fell asleep and woke up i decided to make breakfast. I also decided to invite eleonor over for breakfast, i had missed our little conversations we would have in the mornings. Leah had been taking a shower in our room, eleonor was helping me around in the kitchen.

"I still can't believe leo did that..." eleonor said, her face filled with disgust.

"Well, it's not like he tried to take me home-" i said.

"He kind of did, he literally asked to leave the party with you." eleonor reminded me.

"Right...well..." i shrugged. "Remember when you two kissed?" i smiled at her, i managed to move the spotlight over to her. 

"Ew- don't even...don't say that out loud..." eleonor gagged. 

I laughed a little and looked at her. "Oh come on, it was a game of spin the bottle." 

"Yeah, and he was like my brother at the time." she shook her head and walked over to the table. "It's just...I never thought he'd actually go for you...especially since you and Caden dated...what was he even thinking?" eleonor said from the table.

I served three plates, eggs and bacon with toast on the side. I walked over to the table and placed one of the plates in front of eleonor and the other one in leah's spot.

"I know but...it happened and it's whatever." i shrugged.

I walked back to serve my own plate, i heard leah walk out of the room. 

"What are you girls talking about?" leah said completely clueless, she sat down and looked at eleonor.

"Just..." eleonor paused. "Leo." she finished off. I walked over to the table and sat down. 

"She's apparently still shocked about it." i said looking at leah. I gently touched eleonor's leg under the table to change the subject. Good thing is, leah was the one to change the subject. 

"So where's jacob?" leah asked eleonor as they both began eating.

"He's actually out seeing this apartment right now, i told him he could drop me off for an hour and he's gonna come get me in a few minutes so we can go see another one." eleonor said.

"Oh...that must be boring." leah said. 

"It is actually...and you already know how i'm so indecisive." eleonor looked at me.

"I think everyone knows..." i smiled. "At least you're coming back, how's the school thing going? When do you start again?" i asked eleonor. 

"In late September." she responded. "When does the football thing start again?" she asked.

"Around the same time actually." leah answered. 

"Talking about 'football' why weren't you playing yesterday? I tried watching it but i'm gonna be honest, i got bored." eleonor said picking at her eggs.

I blinked at her and took a deep breath in.

"I was benched." i said.
