Madeline's POV

I had walked out of the bathroom, right after leah. We both walked over to the table, i was looking around for alessia, she wasn't at the bar no more and she wasn't in the pub.

"Do you guys know where alessia went?" i asked the girls sitting at the table.

"Oh right, lotte drove her home in alessia's car." Viv said to me.

I looked at Viv and sighed knowing i was going to have to walk home.

"Everything alright kiddo?" beth asked me rubbing the back of my shoulder.

I shook my head and looked at the blond.

"She was my ride..." i took my phone out to check the time. It was past 8, if i was walking home i'd have to leave now before it becomes too late and i didn't want eleonor to stay up waiting for me.

"I'm gonna start heading out alright you guys? I'll see you all at training" i waved at all the girls.

I exited the pub, as i heard the door behind me close i heard it open again. I turned around to see who was walking behind it, and to my surprise, it was leah.

I looked at her in confusion, she was looking at me.

"You need a ride?" the blond asked me.

I did in fact need a ride but i was not about to get in a car with some girl who just told me i look like someone she hates, for all i know she could drive to the woods and i'd end up in a ditch.

"Uh no, it's fine honestly. I can walk, thank you though." i denied politely.

"Don't be stupid. It's dark already...and it's not safe for you- for a girl to be walking alone at night." leah said with her hands in her back pockets.

"Fine..thank you' i thanked her, i followed her as she started walking to her car.

When i got in i instantly started overthinking, why was she being so nice to me all of a sudden, was she planning something? Was she getting rid of me? Did she just suddenly have a change of heart?

As soon as i got in i put my address on my phone and handed it to her. The car ride was silent for a few minutes until i decided to open my mouth, asking the most stupidest question i could have asked.

"Who were you talking about?.." i asked referring to the conversation earlier in the bathroom.

"What?" leah turned to me as she kept on driving.

"In the bathroom...you said you kept staring at me because i look like someone-" i was mid sentence when she cut me off.

"No one. Forget i said that alright?" Leah tried to change the subject.

I kept quiet for the rest of the car ride. When she parked in front of my house, I turned to her.

"Listen, i know you already made it clear you don't want me mentioning this again but..i would really like for us to be on good terms..i'm not whoever it is you're avoiding talking about. If you're free this sunday, maybe we can go out for coffee, you are part of a team and i want to get to know you since we're going to be playing together soon." i suggested to her.
