Chapter 53 - Distanced

Leah's POV

Madeline pulled away and looked up at me, i could read her facial expression, she didn't look mad at me. I was expecting her to be upset since i didn't have the right to tell alexia anything. Alexia had reminded me that i wasn't with Madeline. She was still my friend and i still cared about her so i felt like i had to.

"You're....not mad at me?" i asked madeline. 

She smiled up at me and shook her head sideways but slowly. 

"She told me everything....everything." madeline said looking down at her phone. "And...i think it was really sweet of you." she said looking back up at me. 

"Madeline, i really am sorry-" 

"Stop apologizing." madeline shook her head. 

I nodded and looked down at her. "I'm guessing you don't want me to apologize for the kiss earlier either..." 

"No...and this kiss...it was just a thank you." madeline said pointing at me. "For sticking up for me, even when you didn't need to." she smiled. 

"So she told you everything i said..." 

"Yeah, were you not planning on telling me?.." madeline asked me.

"I was afraid you might get mad at me...i just didn't like seeing her continuing to do this to you." i said putting my hands in my back pockets. 

"Mmm..." madeline walked over to get her suitcase, she unzipped it and opened it. "Does beth know...and viv-" 

"No. I didn't tell them exactly what happened, just that you were upset."  i said. "Do you need help with packing.." i asked.

"You can help me fold these..." madeline placed some unfolded clothes in front of me on the bed. 

"So...are you ready for the 13 hour flight?" i asked her as i started folding one of the shorts. 

"Not really, i don't even know what i'm going to do during the flight...and i'm going alone this time so i won't have anyone to talk to. Hopefully i can just sleep through it, i doubt that's gonna happen." madeline scoffed.

"Well, i'll still be here till tomorrow so if you want to text me...just till you get there." i offered. 

"I think i will..." madeline looked up at me and smiled. "I'm honestly a little bit nervous to get there...we do have a new coach." madeline reminded me.

"Oh right, Emma's your new coach.." i tried to not laugh. 

"Don't even." madeline looked up at me. 

"What? I think she'll really push you guys to be what you once were." i said.

"I hope so...i haven't talked to her since...i don't know when the last time was." madeline said putting the folded clothes into the suitcase. 

"I don't think she'll treat you any different, or be mean. If anything i think she'll be happy to have you as player." i smiled at her. "Which is what she wanted..." 

"Mm...at least i'll have foxy there, i hope i get roomed with her again." she said.

"Why's that?"
