Chapter 67 - Grateful

Madeline's POV

"...i really miss being back at home, when it was just the two of us...i really just wanted to spend some time with you." i told leah, i really did miss when we didn't have much to worry about. I'm glad i got to spend my summer with her, but that nice relaxing feeling was gonna end soon. 

Leah was gonna have to leave eventually, leave for preseason. If we beat japan on Saturday, i'd have to stay in france for the upcoming matches. I wasn't gonna be alone, emily would still be here as well, but i wasn't gonna be with leah anymore. I just wanted to soak up all the time i had with her, before she had to leave.

"Well then...we can do whatever you want...watch something on the tv?" leah turned to look at the flat tv on the wall. "Or...we can just lay in bed...whatever you want." she turned to me and smiled.

"How about both?" i smiled at her. 

"You know i don't mind." she smiled at me.

It was the next day, Leah had dropped me off at the hotel late last night. Luckily emma wasn't walking around in the middle of the night, i successfully snuck back into my room. Last night was very calming and relaxing, exactly what i wanted after a match. It was just that though, nothing more. 

Now i was back at training, these upcoming matches were only gonna get harder but we still had to keep it going. We were catching a quick water break, when i saw sophia come up to me along with trinity. 

"Today isn't so bad..." sophia said sounding out of breath. 

"It's light, but we have been playing a lot...i don't know how you guys do it..." i told them as i took some water from the bottle. 

"Yeah we've been playing a lot, but it'll all be worth it right?" trinity smiled at me.

I smiled and nodded. "You want that gold huh?" i said.

"I need it." trinity smiled before walking away. I looked over at sophia and patted her back as she put the bottle down. 

"You okay?" i asked her.

"Tired and exhausted but i'll get over it." sophia smiled at me, she covered her face from the sun. 

"I know, the heat isn't helping.." i sighed and stretched my arms out. "But today is a short day, after we can go to the hotel and start packing for paris tomorrow...after that, we can just relax." 

"Relax on that bumpy bus ride?" sophia smiled at me.

"Okay so i wasn't the only one?" i smiled. "I don't get how people nap on the bus rides." i shrugged.

"Hey do you mind if i sit next to you on the bus? I was gonna sit with mal but her and trinity- i know they won't shut up the whole bus ride." sophia asked me.

"Of course, i wouldn't mind some company." i smiled and nodded.

 Leah's POV

It was the next day, Thursday. I had driven out to paris early this morning, madeline had already been here since they left earlier than me. I had her schedule practically engraved into my head by now.
