Chapter 52 - Taking Things Slow

Leah's POV

I wanted to do it so bad, but i knew it would mess things up. I was feeling genuinely shit for her, alexia had gotten back with her girlfriend and madeline was now crying in front of me. I managed to make her smile though, it's the least i could do right now. But i knew it wasn't the right time, as much as i wanted to. 

I even started to lean in a little but madeline turned her head away as she smiled. I cleared my throat and looked away as well.

"Thank you....Leah that really does mean a lot-" madeline got cut off mid sentence, her phone rang and she pulled her phone out of her back pocket. She looked down on it, i managed to get a peek of who it was. "I need to take this...sorry.." 

"No- yeah go right ahead." i nodded and stood up allowing her to walk out into the small hallway. Madeline walked out into the hotel hallway, i could hear her talking on the phone. I wasn't trying to eavesdrop, even though i wanted to know what they were talking about so bad. 

It was Alexia who had called her.

Madeline's POV

I walked out into the hallway, quickly answering the phone call. Maybe Alexia was going to explain everything to me. Part of me didn't want to hear anything from her but what happened tonight really took me by surprise. It had only been 2 weeks and they were already back together? I couldn't help but wonder if Olga knew about us.

I remember it clearly, alexia said i was her friend.

Phone Call

'Hello?'

'Madeline, where are you? I've been looking aroun-'

'I left.'

'Porque?' (Why)

'I just didn't want to be there anymore, besides i have a flight tomorrow evening.'

'Do you think we could get coffee tomorrow?'

'I don't- i don't really think that's a good idea...'

'Porque no?' (Why not)

'I don't think leah would like that very much...i don't want to upset her.'

'Why does it matter what leah thinks?'

'Why do you want to see me so bad?'

'Porque....quiero explicar las cosas- i know how it looks..'(Because...i want to explain things- i know how it looks..)

'You don't have to explain anything Alexia...you guys are back together, i'm happy for you.'

'Madeline-'

'I have to go..'

Phone Call Ended

I know we'd end things as friends, that's what we agreed to be. I just felt frustrated, i didn't come looking for alexia, i came to spend time with my friends and teammates. If i removed alexia from the equation i'd say i had a good trip to spain, something new. Maybe that's what was best, i mean i was still trying to figure stuff out with leah. I didn't need another leah 2.0 right now.
