Chapter 48 - Adjusting

Madeline's POV

For the rest of the day, i had laid in bed alone. Leah was in the small living room by herself. That's how we spent the rest of the day, i was trying to think so hard. Why did she all of a sudden want an actual break. We were fine the way we were, it's almost as if something triggered this. I couldn't think of anything. 

It felt like leah wasn't leah.

I had questions, lots of them. It all came out of nowhere, but if it's what leah wanted i couldn't keep her to myself if she didn't want to be with me. What she was saying made sense though, we did argue and i had the idea first. But our 'break' back home wasn't actually a break if we were fucking everyday. 

What if there was someone else out there for me? What if there was someone else out there for her? Was that the case here? Did she see someone here in spain that she had something with in the past? Did she want to be with someone else?

If that was the case she wouldn't have asked me out again, she wouldn't have asked me to come to spain with her. 

But i couldn't help but wonder.

The next morning, Thursday, i woke up alone in the bed. I wasn't sure where leah was gonna sleep but part of me wanted her to sleep with me. That probably wasn't a good idea if we wanted a break though. I woke up alone in the bed, i walked into the bathroom and brushed my teeth and walked back out to the bedroom. 

I changed into new clothes, i wanted to go for a walk. Besides i didn't really feel like talking to anyone, especially not her.

I wasn't sure if leah was here or not, maybe she'd left to go hangout with keira or maybe she was downstairs having breakfast. I walked out of the bedroom and saw leah sitting alone on the couch, she looked up at me and she sat up instantly.

"Hey." leah said.

"Hi.." i nodded and looked around trying to not make it as awkward as it felt. 

"Um..i was about to order some breakfast up here, do you wanna have breakfast with me?.." leah asked me. 

"Uh- i was actually gonna go on a walk...just to start off the day...i'm not that hungry anyway." i shook my head slightly. 

"Okay...well i'll be here." leah smiled a little at me. 

"I'll be back in a few.." i said walking towards the hotel door.

I left the hotel room and walked all the way down to the lobby, exiting the hotel. I started walking, i didn't know where i was going but all i knew was that i wanted to distract myself. I wanted to talk to someone, the only person i could stand was eleonor.

Phone Call

'Hello?'

"Hey el..'

'Madeline, how are you? How's spain?'

'It's good...um...something kinda happened with leah and I..'

'What.'
