also yes ik sam and kat were not dating in high school but just pretend that they were!
you, colby, sam and kat all have last period together so you usually just go to someone's house after school and hangout till sunset.
the bell finally rings and you four pack your things.
"alright who's place today?" sam says
"not mine, my moms babysitting my sisters kids" kat says
"not mine, my mom's been in a pissy mood" colby says
"fine we'll go to my house" you say
you all get to sams car and he starts driving away.
"I CALL AUX" kat yells
"you always have aux" colby says taking the cord away from her
"BRO GIVE IT BACK" kat punches his arm

"UGHHH" kat and colby sigh
colby hands you the cord and you play old jb

when you get to your place everyone follows you through the garage door. "i'm home!" you yell

"okay? i just went grocery shopping, help yourself to any snacks, oh but please don't be too loud, just put your brother down for a nap" you mom says
"okay we'll just be downstairs" you reply
you walk your friends to the pantry "dude i love it when your mom goes shopping she gets the best snacks" sam says
"yeah yeah whatever, grab anything you want" you say, flipping the light on
sam and colby grab pringles and fruit snacks, you and kat grab capri suns
you quietly walk downstairs since your brother's asleep and you bump into your sister in the family room
"don't you three have your own house?" your older sister asks

colby overs your mouth and drags you away from her. sam kicks your bedroom door open and you all go in
"thanks i was about to lose my shit" you say
you all get comfy, you turn on some music, you and kat get comfy on your bed and sam and colby just do their own thing

"her sister, we are always here, maybe we should go adventure out ya know?" sam says
"you mean make new friends?" colby says

"at our age? who'd let us in their friend group?" kat says

"nah im fine with you three i don't wanna embrace it or take chances" you add on
"so what are you guys doing over the break?" colby asks, totally changing the conversation
"nothing" sam says
"same here" you say
"i have an idea!" kat says

"my sister is throwing a party tonight since my parents are going out of town, do you guys wanna-"

"why not!" kat whines
"im not good in big crowds do you want me to actually lose my shit!" you say
"it's only a couple of her friends not like the whole school" kat says
"come on y/n it would be fun!" colby kneels down in front of your bed and holds your hands "we're juniors almost seniors and never been to a highschool party this is our chance to-"
"TAKE CHANCES"' sam interupts colby
"ugh fine."
"YES!" they all say
after hanging out for a few you all decide it's time to go. "we're going to kats" you yell before leaving "OKAY!" your mom yells back before you slam the door
sam drops you off at kats place to get ready for the party.
you and kat curl your hair and touch up your makeup
you start to freak out cause you hear upstairs getting louder and louder as more people show up to the party.
"you okay?" kat asks
"no! im scared"
"it'll be okay, we won't leave your side and we could always just leave if you get uncomfortable" kat says
you suddenly hear a knock at kats window "oh they're here!"
she opens her window and lets the boys in
"what took you so long" kat asks
"someone here couldn't decide what shoes to wear" colby says
"well i think they look good" kat smirks and leans into sam
"gross" you say
colby walks up to you and grabs your hand then spins you around "you look gorgeous" he says with a smile
"i like your shoes more than sams!" you whisper and kiss colby on the cheek
"i heard that!" sam says
"alright enough lets go upstairs!" kat yells
you make it upstairs and your jaw drops when you see al the people dancing around
"katrina you said only a COUPLE friends?" you yell
"IM SORRY THATS WHAT SHE TOLD ME!"
"it's okay, let's just walk around for a sec" colby says
you grab his hand and he walks out to the crowd
then suddenly baby by justin bieber starts playing and you all gasp and look at eachother "OUR SONG!!" you all chant
"OHH WOAHHHH"

"OH WOAHHHHH OHHHH"
"YOU KNOW YOU LOVE ME!"
you all scream and jump to the song, you finally warm up and feel okay. you're having a great time until the stupid dj stops the song and plays a conga line song
"what the FUCK" sam screams
the whole crowd starts forming a conga line and you lose your friends in the crowd and get pushed down to the ground.
you start to freak out. you couldn't see your friends and you weren't even in your own house. you look around for a hiding spot, only time see the staircase to kats room is blocked. you start to panic cause you don't know what to do. you get up from the ground and you get shoved against a door. you sigh in relief before opening the door then shutting yourself in the closet
you cover your ears and fall to your knees, only wishing for everything to just stop.
finally, for what feels like forever the door flies open "there you are!" a voice says. colby comes in and closes the door behind him. he sits down next to you and wraps an arm around your shoulder
he hears your little sniffles "hey, you alright?"
"no."
"hey look at me?" he says softly.
you lift your head up and you met your teary eyes with his. "i can't breathe." you whisper
he places his hands on your shoulders. "focus on me okay? match your breathing with mine" colby instructed, demonstrating slow deep breathes.
you nodded weakly, trying to follow the pattern of his breathing. "you're doing good , you got this" colby says calmly, his soothe voice calmed your mind
as your breath steadied, you leaned into colby's embrace, his arms wrapped around you as you fall into his chest. "thank you."'you whisper
"of course"
"i'm sorry"
"for what?!" he lets go of the hug
" ruining this for you. i know you were excited, i should've never came-"
"it's okay. don't worry about it, i'm proud of you for going out of your comfort zone. it was fun while it lasted!" he says wiping a stray tear from your cheek
"i just feel bad, where's sam and kat?"
"THERE YOU ARE ARE!" sam says
"oh my god are you okay?" kat asks
"well, now i am"
"well we're in a pickle" sam says
"what did you do?" you ask
"we kinda pissed off my sister so she's kicking us out." kat says
"WE?" colby says
"we as in me and sam." kat says
"great so where we going?" colby says
"we're sleeping over at sam's!" kat says
"hold up there's no way my parents will let me-"
kat interupts you "that's why i texted your mom and said you're staying here."
"genius."
"colby, you down?" sam says
"obviously, lets get out of here"
sam and kat help you two off the floor before you go back down to kats room. since you don't have a bag packed, she lets you barrow her things.
