in which you go to the beach with sam, kat and colby and you get sunburnt
summers almost over and yall have done nothing exciting. before the boys leave to film hellweek, you all decided to go to the beach it's not something you always do so it should be a fun getaway. kat has the biggest car so she drove with sam in the front while you and colby sat in the back.
on the way there, colby keeps his hand on your knee squeezing every once in awhile while you all just talked about random stuff like always.
when you arrive, the four of you set up a comfy spot, the boys immediately go for the waves as you and kat just take some time to settle in
the hours at the beach were filled with laughter and playful moments. while the boys swim, you and kat build an impressive sand castle together but the boys run through it out of no where and destroy it, making you and kat furious
"SAM!" you yell
"COLBYYY!" kat yells
"oh!" colby says, suprised
"that took us like 14 minutes bruh" kat says
"it wasn't that cool," sam replies
kat looks at sam, slams her bucket and shovel into the sand and runs after him
"GET HIM KAT- AHHHH" you scream as you feel arms wrap around you and run towards the water "damnit" you whisper
somehow, sam was the one chasing kat and ended up catching up and grabbing her as well
colby pulls you into the water, holding you close as the waves crashed against your bodies and he eventually let go so you could swim, you four laughed and played silly games in the water like kids.
you did a breath holding contest, sam won of course cause he was on the swim team in high school, a handstand contest and you won ofc, you played chicken fight but kat won all the rounds, you even tried carrying the boys on your shoulders but uh that didn't work out and you even had time to play mermaids. the boys thought it was stupid but you and kat had a blast
after playing in the water, you decide to lay down to dry off and tan a little before cleaning up. you're laying on your stomach and all of a sudden you feel something covering the sun completely, you turn around and see colby hovering over you, wearing that cheeky smile he always does
"god what are you up to?"
"let's go on a walk come on!" he says happily, pulling you up on your feet
you two just stroll along the shore, he held your hand and you picked up some shells whenever you saw ones you liked. you talked about anything and everything.
at one point you were leading the way and he let go of your hand suddenly "hey!" you say, turning around
he immediately pulls you into a tight hug and you wrap your arms around him. it was honestly a really good hug
"aw what's this for?" you ask, your voice muffled in his chest
he lays his head down to rest on top of yours. "i just love you."
"i love you, colby." you lift your head up and pucker your lips and he kisses you softly
the waves continued to crash around your feet and the moment was just perfect until sam yells for you two to come help clean up
on the car ride home, you realize how red your shoulders look but you don't think much of it till you get home and that's when it really started to hurt
you look at yourself in the mirror and can't believe you were stupid enough to forget sunscreen. "COLBY!" you yell and you immediately hear footsteps coming to the door
"what is it baby," he peaks his head through the door "JESUS."
"is it that bad?"
"you're fucking RED baby, does it hurt?"
"nahh it feels fantastic! please help me"
he helps you take your bikini off and also assists you in the shower when you couldn't lift your arms to wash your hair
after the shower, he helped you change into one of his t shirts and he lend you a pair of his boxers since they're easy to put on and take off
"go lie down, i'm gonna look for the aloe okay?" colby said
you nod, turning toward the bed then slowly lying yourself down, you wince in pain as you flip on your stomach but that position feels way better than before
he finally comes back with the aloe vera gel and lotion
he stands beside you and pulls your shirt up, revealing your bare back "i'll be as gentle as i can, tell me if it hurts k?" he says, putting some gel on his hands
you groan in the pillow as you feel the coolness come in contact with your skin. "it feels kinda nice"
he chuckles softly, his fingers moving gently across your skin, spreading the aloe with careful precision. his focus is entirely on making sure he doesn't cause you any discomfort. the gel cools down your skin immediately and you can already feel the sting begin to subside
he takes his time, ensuring every spot on your back that needs it has it before lifting up your sleeves to get your shoulders and arms
"i cant believe you forgot sunscreen" he says trying to lighten the mood
"we all forgot sunscreen. how the hell am i the only one who got fried?"
"the sun loves you i guess" he chuckles
his fingers trace a particularly tender spin on your shoulder and you wince slightly. he pulls away immediately "did that hurt?"
"yeah just a little, keep going"
"baby this is bad, i hate seeing you in pain"
he continues to carefully rub in the gel. when that's all done, he applies lotion to lock in the moisture and help your skin heal faster. his hands move precisely, truly every touch filled with care. you can even feel his cold rings slide around. when he's done, he gently pulls your shirt back down, covering your aloe soaked back.
"can you help me with my hair?" you ask softly
"of course, imma go get the brush"
he disappears for a second, returning with a hairbrush and a hair tie. he gently helps you sit up then kneels behind you, carefully gathering your damp hair. his fingers are so gentle as they work through knots, making sure not to pull too hard. you were shocked when he was smart enough to lift your hair and brush so it didn't hit your back.
when your hair is finally tangle free, he gathers it into a loose braid, securing it with a hair tie
"thanks" you say, feeling truly cared for.
"you're welcome baby. now let's get you comfortable. how do you wanna sleep?"
colby helped you lie down in 2 different ways but you couldn't get comfy. everything just rubbing against your aching skin
you finally found a comfy spot on top of him. your head resting just below his chest. you guys lay like this all the time but this time, his hands are resting on your head not your back.
"better?" he asks softly
"better." you nod slightly "thank you"
"anything for you" he smiles, tilting his head down to kiss your head lightly then playing with your loose strands of hair
you two lie there, talking about your day at the beach and sharing old memories. eventually, colby lifts up the back of your shirt to look at your sunburn again
"oh baby, i really hope this doesn't peel, it looks like it hurts"
"me too. and yeah it hurts like a bitch" you mumble
"im sorry sweetheart, we'll take extra care if it okay?"
you nod, feeling too tired to respond properly. colby goes down to kiss your head one last time "goodnight baby"
ah i've gotten so many requests for the beach so this is the best i could come up with. i hope yall like it bc i tried LOL
