Bri's POV

My legs started to tremble, and I tightened my grip on the gun and knife. I hope this goes well.

I was looking out the door as much as I could, and I saw brown hair.

Who is that? I thought to myself.

I couldn't have been Jack, because his hair is darker than this person's hair.

The footsteps grew closer and closer until I saw the face of the person.

It was Shawn.

Shawn's POV

It was early in the morning when I was still at the hospital that night. Then, the gunshots went off, and most of the workers at the hospital took their patients and relocated them at another hospital in a different town. Some of the visitors fled for their lives. Some of the police men went to investigate, and the ones that tried to stay and stop whoever was doing that, either got shot, stabbed, or got told that if they stayed, they would die, but they could just go.

Or at least that's what Jaxson told me.

About a day and a half passed, and I had been staying at Bri's house. Then, I got a text. I had been getting a lot of those from friends and my family asking me if I was doing okay, or if I wanted to go home, but I never replied to those. I just wanted a text from Bri. That's all.

I looked down at my phone and I read the senders name over and over before I unlocked my phone. The text was from Bri.

I quickly unlocked my phone and looked at it. It wasn't a text, but it was a video.

And it was of her, in the hospital bed. I didn't know if I should smile or cry, because I was happy that she was still alive, but scared what had happened to her.

I clicked play ad watched the video. Once it was over, I couldn't believe what I had just saw. Jack was holding Bri hostage, and was going to kill her.

I ran downstairs into the living room and thankfully her mom and Jaxson were in there.

"Guys, I just got a text from Bri. And it's not what you think, here," I said, handing them the phone.

Once the video was over, both Jaxson and her mother looked angry, yet scared at the same time.

"Well, Shawn, I'm not letting you go down there alone," Jaxson said.

"Fine, but you have to stay in the car, so we can make a quick escape. Maybe, if we're lucky, Jack will be gone," I said, putting on my jacket and shoes.

Jaxson already had his shoes on, and he threw a jacket on and grabbed the keys to his Jeep and as he was walking out the door, he turned to his mother and said, "I love you, mom," and walked out the door, not waiting for a response.
