Ch. 31

Shawn's POV

I climbed in the window and Bri said, "I thought you were leaving."

"Yeah, well I changed my mind," I replied.

Bri smiled. She was so beautiful. I love her so much.

I walked up to her and connected my lips with hers.

Her soft, plump lips connected with mine and I had my hand behind her ear.

I pulled away.

"Bri that dress looks beautiful on you," I said, grabbing her hands.

"Thank you," she replied.

I brought her hands up to my lips, and I kissed her wrists, where the razor that ruins her life has once kissed her also.

"Can you promise me something?" I asked.

"Yeah sure what is it?" she answered.

"Promise me to never do this ever again. You're too beautiful to be cutting up your skin. If you ever need to talk, even if you're mad with me or I'm mad with you, I'll always be here. Okay?" I asked.

"Okay, I love you," she said, pulling me into a hug.

"I love you too, babe," I said.

Later that night, I left and drove home.

When I got home, she texted me.

Bri: Shawny

Me: Baby

Bri: I had a lot of fun tonight.

Me: Me too.

Bri: We should do stuff like that more often.

Me: Like what? Go out on a date or watch movies?

Bri: I don't know like just go out around town. Not like go to a restaurant and eat, but just go out and do something romantic.

Me: So, tomorrow night then?

Bri: Sure, but Sunday Faith and I are going to see a movie.

Me: That's fine. Just make sure you tell Faith I said hi.

Bri: Okay. Bye, I love you.

Me: I love you too.

I laid down on my bed and I looked up at the ceiling.

Then I got a call.

I looked down at my iPhone 6+ and saw that it was the zoo.

I picked up and said, "Hello?"

"Hello, this is Danielle from the Central Park zoo. I am calling to tell you that the koala can be picked up tomorrow, and we will take him back on June 22. If you would like to pick him up on a later date, we can reschedule."

"That's fine. What time will I have to be there?" I asked the woman on the phone.

"11:00 am, sir. It will take about an hour to get everything set up. We will have to show you how to take care of the koala and then we will take her to your house and set up her cages. She will have one outdoor cage and one indoor cage. Then, we will have you choose her name and sign her adoption certificate," Daniella said.

"Okay, so you will be at my house at twelve then?" I asked.

"Yes, you will come to the zoo to learn how to take care of her and then at twelve we will go to your house and set up," she said.

"Okay, thank you." I said, sleepily.

"You're welcome, and have a nice night."

"Thanks," I said, and hung up.

I couldn't wait until the morning.

That night I dreamt something very bizarre.

I was at Bri's house and she was sitting on the couch.

She was watching a show on television that had us as the actors.

We were walking on the beach.

I grabbed her hand and looked over at her face.

The dream now went to me in the movie not me watching it.

"Bri," I said, my words slurred.

She smiled.

"I love you," I whispered.

"I love you too," she replied.

I picked her up and I turned her around and then we ended up at the pier.

We were on the Ferris wheel.

I looked over at her face, and I saw her looking down at the water.

"Babe, why are you looking down there?" I asked.

"I saw something," she said, still looking down.

I looked over her shoulder, and I saw a man struggling in the water.

Then, suddenly the man in the water turned into Bri and the person in the Ferris wheel turned into Matthew.

I looked over at Matt, horrified.

"Oh, don't think that you can just get away from me that easily," Matt said evilly.

"Stay away from Bri. Leave," I said.

"Wouldn't it be better if you left?" He asked.

"No you ju-"

I was cut off by Matthew pushing me off of the Ferris wheel into the water below, right next to Bri.

Bri didn't know how to swim, and before she went under the water, she said, "WAKE UP!"

She sounded like she was crying.

Those words kept repeating in my mind.

I suddenly awoke with a start and I was sweating.

I had tears streaming down my cheeks.

I had to call Bri.
