Hunt you down

Noah's POV
"I miss you... I'm sorry for what I said, I didn't mean it. I wasn't thinking and it was very hurtful. You have every right to be angry with me and again, I'm so sorry for what I did. I was wrong and you were right. Now we need to keep trying.... please, can I see you? I love you, Eleanor" I said as I leave her a voicemail. She's probably still flying so her phone won't work right now, but she'll know when she gets the chance to check.

I go into the living room and pull out my notebook I kept in a box by the TV. I've had this notebook for years, but I'm more into writing from the computer than paper. I sit down on the couch and take a deep breath in before slowly opening the book.
Some of the pages are wrinkled or water stained, but you can still see the writing pretty well.

I flip through it and see some old songs I never went through with and others we made into masterpieces according to the fans. It felt good to see these old pages and how much our music and us has matured. As I get towards the middle of the notebook, I come across that one song that pretty much explains my entire life. 'Kingdom of cards' the song Ellie wrote part of, the song that I had in mind forever, and the honesty behind it was everything. I never sang this song live after Ellie left, it hurt too much... it still kinda hurts to be honest. I read our notes, clearly able to tell the difference between our handwriting. Mine is pretty neat, but Ellie's is pretty much perfect. No mistakes on her end.

A smile crawls onto my face as I slide my fingers over the paper. We made our own kingdom of cards, but they all fell down and we can't rebuild them. I let out a breath before closing the book and setting it on the couch before standing up and going upstairs.

Once again I call Eleanor, hopefully she'll call me back, though it has only been about a half hour. As the phone rings, I hear the ringtone belonging to Ellie's phone coming from outside? I happened to be standing next to our window so I pull the white curtains back and look around the yard. That's when she answered. "Go to the back door" she says softly as a huge smile appears on my face. I don't respond back cause I'm so excited, instead I listen to her instructions and run down the steps to the back door. I unlocked it run out to the back still holding my phone. "Ellie? " I said into the phone sounding way too excited before I heard a car horn honk. I turned around and see Eleanor sitting in a black sports car beside my driveway. The fencing here is pretty short so she was easily noticeable. Again I was smiling before jogging down the fence. Eleanor steps out of the car and runs up to the fence. Once we were about arms length, I instantly pull her into a tight hug. Her arms wrap around my waist tightly as I bury my face into her long dark hair. "I'm so sorry for what I said " I mumbled into her as her hand gently runs up and down my back. "I'm sorry for leaving you " it's Honestly a miracle that she's still here. I'm so happy to see her beautiful face again and in front of me.

"Hey, you wanna go to the beach? " Ellie asks as we pull away slowly, but hold each other's hands. "Yeah, I'd love to go" I said as she smiles. "Come on, tiger" I laughed before we let go and I pull myself over the fence. We both get in this fancy sports car and speed off to the beach....

"I couldn't go. I just wanted to see what you'd do." I listen as Ellie and I walked together down the warm shoreline of the beach. It was completely empty which was nice, for both of us. "Were you worried I was gonna do something? " I asked as she shakes her head. "No, I just wanted to see what you were gonna do and you pretty much did everything I expected. You called, apologized, and reminded me how much you love me... Which is exactly what I wanted to see, that's why I stayed. " I nodded,
"What about your aunt? " I questioned, "Carly's moving to Canada, but I'm not moving in with her.
She offered it as a backup if it were ever needed, but no... I like Italy too much to leave." I nod in relief.
"Ok, good... you had me there." She chuckles before silence takes over and we walk in a comfortable silence. Just like a few months ago, we were back at this beach. Now I'm cancer free, back to a healthy weight, have a new baby boy, and Ellie's still here with me. In reality, things were pretty good, I made them feel so wrong though.

As Ellie and I come to a stop, we look at each other with an unreasonable expression. "Do you remember what we did here a couple months ago? " Ellie asks as I let out a small laugh.
"Yeah, we had some great sex" she laughs as so do I before I wrap my arm around her shoulders. "You wanna f*ck? " she shrugs, "I'd rather punish you but... this is an offer of a lifetime isn't it?" She smirks before getting down on her knees in the sand. "Hold up angel... Who said you couldn't punish me? " she looks up smirking as I put my hand underneath her chin. "Why don't you take me home and use me however you please?" That made her happy due to the smile on her face. "Mmmm, ok... Let me take you home and we'll see where things go from there...."
