"No, no— stop it!" Blake slapped the side of my head, her eyes slitted and bright yellow, "I am trying to help you!"

"I don't need your help," I grit out, pushing away from her again and pressing myself into the car door. My ears burned painfully still.

"Sure you don't," Blake snapped back just as angrily, tossing the tissue she'd been using to wipe blood away on the car floor. "I can't believe you would be stupid enough to try and kill a hunter in a school full of humans!"

"Well, I failed," I hissed, my eyes staring out at the rain falling out of the sky, "maybe the hospital will be a better place to try."

Deucalion had called. Mason had summoned us all together, and it was like rubbing salt into a wound. There was no squeeze in his car now. We all sat comfortably, and that was only because Archie was gone.

"We are not going to the hospital to kill an Argent," Blake warned me, her eyes burning holes into the side of my face. "Deucalion needs us to subdue a threat, a real threat, a sadistic murderer who—"

"Allison killed Archie," I spat the words out thickly, snapping my head to her, "she dug her knife into his back and killed him."

"We don't know that for sure," Paisley, who sat between us, mumbled out quietly, her eyes trained down, "we don't know it Allison."

"We know it was an Argent, and I'm happy for the blood price to be Allison," I near growled at her, my heart pounding in my chest as my eyes unintentionally grew yellow.

"Mason," Blake whipped her eyes to the alpha driving, "say something! You can't actually agree that killing an Argent in response to Archie's death is a good idea."

Mason's hands around the wheel tightened, and his back tensed, "We can talk about this later."

"There will be no later," Blake protested, grabbing onto the headrest of his seat and pulling herself forward, "we kill an Argent, they'll come for us—"

"They already came for us!" I snarled, my claws digging into the handle of the car door and breaking the plastic.

"Enough!" Aaron snapped, whipping his head back around, "We are going to help Deucalion capture Kali's emissary, and after that, we will be joining his pack. That should be our top concern, and if between getting to that point an Argent ends up dead, so be it." He looked between Blake and I, "Now in the nicest way possible, shut the fuck up."

The hospital was dark when we arrived and completely deserted aside from a few cars that were stuck in the parking lot. Tree branches and random debris struck the ground and slashed through the air, the rain falling so heavy it was impossible to see.

"They're in the morgue," Mason told us, his voice cold and calm but anger radiated off him as it often did these days. "Aaron and I will block the doors so no one gets out. Paisley, Blake, go find the twins. Korey, Arc—"

The raindrops pelted the car, the metal banging in our ears as a chill flooded through the air, either from the weather or from the simple slip up that struck all of our hearts.

Mason swallowed thickly, pulling his hands off the steering wheel with a foreign rigidity, "Korey, go and find Deucalion in the morgue." He must have known that there was a risk I would ignore his orders and head off hunting for the Argents. He must have know it was more than likely that I would and it was almost like he was giving me his permission.
