"Are you sure?" Stiles pressed again, "Like one hundred per cent, no doubt at all?"

"Yes," I said flatly, rolling my eyes as I crossed my arms over my chest, standing at the head of the McCall dining table.

"I mean, is it really that unbelievable?" Kira asked softly, looking around the table, "Werewolves and kitsunes exist. Why shouldn't vampires?"

"Because I would prefer it if they didn't," Stiles smiled falsely. This was one creature that could have stayed in a terribly lit and poorly presented 'Bella, this is the skin of sparkly fairy princess' type movie." He turned to me then, his eye twitching slightly, "So, again, I am asking you, are you sure you saw vampires?"

I leaned my head back briefly to stare up at the ceiling before I dropped my head back down. "I am a thousand per cent sure I saw vampires in my old pack house." I shifted my weight from one foot onto both, "Sedona was full of vampires, crawling with them even. Everywhere you turned, you had leeches creeping about."

"What's so special about Sedona?" Lydia cocked her head to the side, her eyes narrowing as she thought.

"Cliffs," I blurted plainly, "mountains, caves. They're a reclusive species. They don't like to be amongst others. They stick to their clans, and they stray as far away as they can from everyone else."

"Clans?" Scott looked up a me in confusion.

I nodded curtly, "Alright, I'm gonna give you a run down of these fuckers so ready your questions but don't interrupt." I stuck my finger out at Allison, "We might need the Bestiary at some point but it's unlikely." I turned my finger to Lydia then, "Make notes. I don't want to repeat myself."

Lydia smiled sweetly, annoyance coursing off her, "Bite me."

"Don't tempt me," I winked at her before sighing, "alright then. First things first, what are clans?" I paused for dramatic effect before continuing, "Werewolves have packs, an alpha, betas, that's what makes us strong. Without a pack, we become omegas. Vampires are similar, except they don't have a quote unquote alpha." I paused, trying to figure out how to explain myself clearly, "You have two categories of vampires, risers and turned children. Risers were people who died and for some reason, they came back."

"Like you did?" Stiles' face twisted in confusion.

"No, Stiles, I'm a zombie, not a vampire, keep up," I dismissed his concern swiftly, "The old legend is that risers appeared during an eclipse over a thousand years ago and every hundred years later, a new riser was revived."

"Okay," Scott nodded curtly, "so there's like, what? Ten of them?"

"Not exactly," I sighed heavily, "all the risers were killed by hunters or werewolves way back. Risers are powerful, too powerful, so hunters used to seek them out as soon as they left their burial sites and they'd swipe them."

"Swipe them?" Allison frowned in confusion.

I clenched my fist, sticking my thumb out before I dragged it across my neck, "Swipe."

"Oh," her face fell slightly, "got it."

"So if all the risers are dead, then these vampires are..." Isaac turned to me, "turned children?"

I smiled at him easily, "Bingo. Turned children are humans who were bitten by risers. They're less powerful, but there are thousands of them. These vampires are a clan of turned children. They'll be a sort of family with a designated leader."
