"Stay in range at all times," Derek ordered, "but if you need to back off or change with someone else, do that. No one is expecting you to be okay with any of this."

I offered him a narrow smile, "I know. I'll keep my distance. I'll tether and take, but I won't fight. I know my limits."

Derek sighed softly, "Okay." He turned to Scott and Kira then, "Ready?"

"Beams are up!" Chris called out, Allison readying her bow beside him.

"We're ready," Kira nodded curtly, clicking her belt off and snapping her katana into place.

Scott rotated his body to the exit of the sewar tunnel, his eyes glowing red. "Let's end this."

My heart began to thump nervously, my palms clamming up as growls and snarls started up around me.

Derek stepped out in front of me, rolling his neck as he took on his wolf form, his eyes shining blue. "Korey, now."

I took in a deep breath, letting the whirling start up quietly at first and then, growing stronger as I built up more and more tether lines. I managed five, looping them towards Derek, Scott, and Kira, then Isaac and Peter too.

Gianna was the first to burst out of the tunnel, her hands wrapped around her ears and her eyes unintentionally glowing red from the pain of the noise. She faltered when she saw us, partially turning back to the tunnel.

"Miss Juarez, don't," Chris called out to her, holding his hand out, "You do not need to be a part of this fight. We only want one person."

Finn appeared beside Gianna at the blink of an eye, handling his pain far better and pressing his hand into her back. "Go. I told you I had a plan. This is it."

Gianna stared up at him, her eyes wide, "Hannah..."

"Has chosen her side," Finn shook his head, "she will see sense once he is gone, but right now, we save ourselves and hope for another chance elsewhere."

The two vampires hesitantly walked forwards together, Finn trying to offer Gianna some comfort despite making the decision for her to abandon a clan member. 

He stopped in front of Chris, nodding curtly, "Where do you want us?"

Chris stepped aside, holding his arm out to Malia, who stood between the treeline, "There will do."

Finn nodded shortly, pulling Gianna after him and standing beside Malia, his face rigid and sombre, torn between a number of emotions. "Hannah will come out next. Please...only do what is necessary. I will deal with her myself at a later time but—"

Finn was interrupted by a figure bursting out of the sewars and slamming into Scott.

"That's our cue," Peter blurted out, starting forwards with Isaac on his heels.

I shifted the tethers, pushing more through the lines attached to them as I watched Scott toss Hannah off him.

The vampire landed beside Scott with a small thump before she twisted into a crouch, hissing lowly, her eyes vivid and red.

Peter grabbed a hold of the back of her neck before she could lunge at Scott again, snarling quietly as his eyes flashed blue. "I'm your opponent, little girl."

Hannah spun around, clawing at him, but Peter was an experienced fighter, and he grabbed her arm, twisting it harshly before he tossed her further away.
