"You two do realize that Astrid could hear every word of your fights?" James lectured. "I've found out a lot about werewolves that I didn't know before, but some werewolves have increased hearing permanently. That includes the children."

Sirius and Remus looked down shamefully as James lectured them. "You two are so lucky that you had me here because while you two spent our time arguing over petty things, I actually did our job. Now I would like to go home to see my boyfriend if you two would be so kind." James huffed and crossed his arms.

Remus nodded, "Let's go."

"Thank you." James grabbed his bag and made his way out. He made sure that everyone thanked Astrid and they left. On his way out, the two twin children he met that morning ran up to him.

"Are you leaving already?" Oliver pouted.

"I'm sorry. How about this, I'll come visit sometimes and check on you guys, would you like that?" James crouched to eye level with the boy.

Oliver grinned and ran over to Astrid, bumping into everything in his path.

"You would make a great father." Sirius commented.

"Shut it Sirius. Don't pretend like you're getting out of trouble that easily. Don't make me bring mom into this." James threatened, and the first thing he did when he got home was sit Sirius and Remus down with Effie and Monty, then went off to find his boyfriend, not wanting to tire himself out with his friends any longer.

James found Regulus at his desk, pressing flowers into a journal.

"Hello love" James smiled softly and hugged Regulus from behind. He took in every detail of his lover as if it was his first time ever seeing him.

"Is everything alright?" Regulus turned to face James.

"No. It's Remus and Sirius. They're fighting. Sirius said some insensitive thing about werewolves and now they're fighting about that, and Remus brought up the prank again and... Frankly, I am not getting involved in that again. It was hard enough the first time." James sighed. "Mum and Dad are with them right now. They're the only reason those two resolved things in 5th year. As much as I love them, they have so many issues."

"We all have issues. I'm not going to justify what Sirius did at all but you do have to remember his upbringing. Our parents were hateful and unforgiving, it's hard for those thoughts not to slip sometimes." Regulus explained, "I think I should talk to him."

James nodded and the two walked into the living room. Remus and Sirius were refusing to talk to each other, arguing like petty children.

"Sirius. We need to talk." Regulus beckoned and Sirius jumped at the opportunity to be pulled out of this situation.

Regulus dragged his brother into his room and sat Sirius down. "So first of all, tell me what happened" Regulus crossed his arms and listened to Sirius explain everything. "I- well, I don't know what I was thinking- I wasn't thinking. Thus is what happens when I don't think! I mess things up. 5th year when I pranked Snape I wasn't thinking and I could have gotten someone killed. I wasn't scared of those werewolves and I don't know why I said what I did. I just wasn't thinking again." Sirius twisted strands of his hair between his fingers anxiously.

"Sirius. I know how you feel. Remember you are not a bad person, and you are not like Walburga. Now, I need you to be the bigger man and stop bickering and start apologizing instead of refusing to talk directly to Remus. You're not 5." Regulus said.

Sirius nodded, "I've tried apologizing though. He doesn't believe me." Sirius groaned, burying his head in his hands.

"Oh, Ill talk to him too, don't worry." Regulus said. He sent Sirius back to the living room and kidnapped Remus. He felt like a mother lecturing her kids.

"Tell me your side of the story."  Regulus tapped his foot impatiently on the ground. Remus started going off, "I didn't know he was so hateful, I mean I thought he loved me. But if he thinks my kind are all monsters I don't know what to do." Remus said.

"Remus. He doesn't think you are a monster. I know he is sorry, it was hateful thoughts from our mother seeping into his head. I know this isn't an excuse, but he wasn't thinking. It wasn't him. Sometimes in our family, things like that just come out and it's horrible. Right now you both need each other. Confide in each other. Instead of fighting, find out why those thoughts were in his brain. And please for the love of all the gods please stop fighting like children." Regulus said.

Remus nodded, "I'm just mad. I cant believe he said those things, it just - brought so many emotions to the surface."

Regulus offered a hug to Remus, who took it and hugged Regulus tightly. "Thanks Regulus. You shouldn't have to be the middle man in our fights." Remus said.

"I'm used to it." Regulus shrugged, and pushed Remus out the door "now go resolve your shit. Neither of you are allowed to talk to me or James until you do." Regulus said, and Remus nodded.

Regulus went to find James. He wandered around the house a little, and eventually found James outside in the garden with his mother.

"What are you two planting?" He asked, crouching next to James, who was wrist deep in soil.

"I'm making a flower garden, these will be hyacinths here." James smiled softly. "Hopefully I don't kill them when I go on my missions for the order."

"I can take care of them whenever you're gone." Regulus offered.

"You'd do that?" James asked and Regulus nodded. "I love you."

This arc of the story was so hard to write but ITS IMPORTANT FOR THE PLOT.

Anyway im so sorry for not uploading, the disney/universal trip was successful, and I am back in texas (right in time to lose all my power with this hurricane coming probably tomorrow) but my family insisted on doing a lot of things with my step dads mother while she is here, and my sister in law needed to have her baby shower at our house for some reason (an entire long ass situation) and now i'm sick and I definitely blame the people she invited over bc wtf.

So im not gonna get into the entire ass situation bc that would take HOURS, but my sister in law decided to throw her baby shower at my house, and was like rlly picky at the activities that we could do, and we ended up buying tie die and other things, just for her to sit inside and talk about volleyball with ONE PERSON the ENTIRE TIME. like she would not stop for ANYONE, not even her three year old kid, and she didnt participate in the fucking activities until after everyone she invited was long gone and her volleyball lady left. Literally she ignored the others she invited just to talk with this one lady who she worked alongside, jist about drama about 14 year olds that they already know??? i mean i love complaining and drama as much as the next person but just repeating the same stuff over and over, and about 14 year olds, and at your fucking party, thats just a little weird.

And then before that lady showed, her and her other pregnant friend just complained about how they are too lazy to do anything at all and sit on the couch all day, and then she denied it when i said it later, like girly thats not the first time youve told us youre too lazy to do literally anything. She literally sits on the couch all day on her play station as my brother has his job (forced to be at home bc of her) raise their kid, take care of their dogs and cats, clean their house, and cook all their meals.

Anyway, enough complaining and yapping. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter, and I will NOT make you guys wait this long for the next chapter.
