A week after summer break started, the full moon approached fast. Peter visited a few days before to help Remus prepare.

The group were all sure that this would be the hardest one yet. Remus hated complaining, and he always pretended to be fully recovered, but they all could tell how much it hurt him to walk. Not just his legs, but the sting of his head from the abnormality of it all. He still wasn't used to his sudden lack of eyesight. Getting around Hogwarts wasn't the worst due to the large corridors, and his friends to lead him around, but Remus found himself consistently walking into corners and walls in the Potter house.

The four boys sat in the living room. James and Sirius were laughing hysterically about something stupid as Remus layed in Sirius' lap. Sirius was running his hands through the other's hair.

Peter was sitting near them silently. It still felt odd, how they acted normal around him after he ditched them without any explanation. And they just invited him back, expecting nothing of him. It made him feel terrible for leaving, and for doing what he did.

"Guys," Peter spoke up, and the room immediately went silent. Peter almost never spoke up like that unless it was something important, especially as of recent. The undivided attention they gave him only amplified the guilt he felt, making him want to cower back, turn into a rat, and run. "I - I have to confess what happened. When I - when I left. "He muttered.

"Alright Peter, we're listening," Sirius said.

Peter took a deep breath, "I'll start from the beginning. I never thought I deserved your friendship. I don't feel like I fit in with you guys, I don't plan pranks, I'm not loud or outgoing, I don't even know why you decided to sit with me on that train first year, James. You guys were all so cool and allowed me to be part of your group when anyone else would have been happy to tag along with you. Anyway, I've always wanted to find a place to feel where I belong - not - not like you guys don't make me feel so included and appreciated, but I always felt so undeserving of that"

"Awe Peter, no you absolutely-"
