"boom!"

The sudden sound in the hallway woke the sleeping woman in the room.

"gyaaa..."

Her scream echoed in the house as she discovered the corpse next to her.

On the other hand, I was dodging the cause of the sound, I FELL to the ground after narrowly dodging a blow aimed at me.

I was surprised by the attack coming towards me, As I was about to scan the situation in the last room, I noticed an object coming towards me. I was only able to dodge it thanks to the fact that I increased my stats with the 10 free points granted to me by the Gaia system. If I hadn't improved my agility, that hit would have knocked me out or even killed me, since everything was going according to plan I let my guard down, a rookie mistake.

While I was thinking about this, I had already moved far enough away and saw a man of almost two meters with a hammer with a one-meter handle, analyzing me as I was analyzing him. After assessing the situation, I asked:

"How did you spot me? I made sure not to make any noise." After realizing it was a kid I was dealing with I noticed he relaxed and gained confidence causing me to let my guard down a bit.

"I don't know how a brat like you got in here, but I'll give you credit for killing one of my roommates in his sleep," he said, and I realized I didn't know and had gotten rid of his other roommates on the second floor.

"You may not have made any noise, but my instincts developed over the years living in poor areas are very keen."

His tone was boastful, it seemed the man liked to brag about his own ability, which made me realize that I didn't make a mistake, it was just bad luck.

I grimaced at the circumstances and prepared for battle, taking into account his size and the range of his weapon. The chances of victory were slim, even being an awakened one, as a newly awakened one like me is no different from a normal person. But thanks to Gaia, I had almost 20 total stats, double that of a normal person, so I was no slouch.

I prepared to perform an attack with the maximum speed I could achieve, concentrated the mana in my legs and circulated it in a specific way following the best art I remember, as well as using the long years of experience in my mind allowed me to find the best method of attack. The man, who thought he had only dodged it before by luck, which made him let his guard down, made his biggest mistake. No matter how sharp his instincts were, underestimating your opponent is a critical mistake, which made him react too slowly.

Still, I must give him credit for his instincts. The dagger only cut his side, preventing him from reaching the heart, as he deflected the attack at the last moment with the hammer handle, causing a shallow wound. Still, it was too late and he could not react to my next moves. In my free hand, another dagger suddenly appeared, and with a small jump I thrust it into his jaw, piercing his mouth and its tip sticking into his skull. He could not avoid it as the length of the weapon was more of an obstacle in close combat than anything else, the dagger embedded in his head was obviously lethal and he died without being able to perform any attack.

I stared at the dagger and couldn't help but be amazed at how sharp the dagger I bought at the store was. There was no resistance when I pierced its jaw, thanks to the inventory I was able to make a weapon appear out of nowhere, which gave me the element of surprise and I was able to end the battle on the first move. Although my old way of fighting has not adapted to this small body, my experience was enough to get through this scenario without any injuries.

I then went to the room I was originally headed to and found only another woman trembling, as I had taken out all the kidnappers in the house. I went downstairs to join the children, but when I went down to the second floor I noticed the main entrance door open as another man entered. He didn't look as strong as the previous one, but I couldn't help but make my skin crawl, as my eyes of truth told me he was an awakened one, and not only that, but an awakened one of a star.

We froze when our gazes crossed as neither of us expected the situation, after he looked at the situation on the second floor and saw the bodies scattered all over the floor. He didn't say anything, he just pulled out his gun and headed towards me.

When I realized it, I felt the coldness of his weapon near my neck, and my body reacted instinctively and stopped the attack with the dagger before it could cut me. He then performed a follow-up kick that sent me flying towards the stairs, knocking the air out of my lungs.

I tried to catch my breath, but he didn't allow me a break and moved towards me with the intention of finishing me off. Knowing that the situation could not continue like this, I used the teleport skill and teleported out of his field of vision. Because it was a low-ranking skill, I could only teleport a few meters, and the place where I did so was the room where the woman who screamed was still standing.

I had no choice but to knock her out to prevent her from making noise. I then replayed what happened in my head and based on my observations of the man, I realized that he specialized in speed and strength, and didn't seem to use elemental mana, so I didn't have to worry about ranged attacks, unless he had some kind of throwing weapon. Thinking about these points, I prepared myself for the battle that was to come.

He may have beaten me, but I still believe I can beat him, my combined stats are not inferior to his. When one becomes awakened from a star, he gets an average of 20 combined stats, and with the ten stats I was gifted by the system, I am not weaker than him, only his speed seems superior to mine even though it is my highest stat. Thinking like this, I made sure to analyze the other points to take into account, thus preparing myself for the next battle.
