That same night, after a long day of settling into his new role, Seungcheol found himself unable to sleep. He decided to take a walk, hoping the cool night air would clear his mind.

As he wandered, he noticed Mingyu and Wonwoo returning back from patrol. "Oh hi Seungcheol, what are you doing up?" Mingyu asked.

"Just couldn't sleep." Seungcheol sent them a smile. "But, don't mind me, you guys can head into bed." Seungcheol said taking a seat on a nearby log.

"Is something on your mind? You're on the thinking log." Mingyu asked lightheartdetly.

Seungcheol hesitated, trying to gather his thoughts. "I was just thinking..."

"Jeonghan stepped up as the leader, and he's done such an great and wonderful job. But I was wondering why neither of you, as Alphas, chose to take that role." Seungcheol asked honestly.

Wonwoo exchanged a glance with Mingyu before responding. "It's a fair question, Seungcheol. We did consider it, but there were a few reasons we decided against it." He admitted.

"Jeonghan had a unique position in the pack. As a Beta who couldn't be forced into submission, he had a certain authority and respect that made him an ideal leader, even if it was just tempoaray." Mingyu added in agreement.

"We knew our strengths and our roles. Taking on a leadership position isn't just about authority-it's about what's best for the pack. Jeonghan stepping up was what we believed to be the best decision at the time." Wonwoo said.

"And it wasn't about avoiding responsibility. We both supported Jeonghan fully and made sure to be there for him and the pack." He added.

Seungcheol smiled, feeling a deeper respect for the two Alphas. "I see. It's always been clear to me that you both care deeply about the pack. Thank you for explaining that to me." Seungcheol said.

Mingyu clapped Seungcheol on the shoulder. "You're one of us now, Seungcheol. We trust you to lead us, and we're here to support you, just like we supported Jeonghan." Mingyu added.

After wishing the 2 a goodnight, Seungcheol continued to sit outside for a few minutes before returning to the Alpha den.
