Thirty Eight

After a few days, Seungcheol figured out the others knew that Seungcheol had learned about their old pack leader.

However, no one other than Mingyu, Wonwoo, and Vernon talked about it to him.

Not that Seungcheol pushed any of them talked about it. But the others made it clear that he didn't matter any more. They had Seungcheol now.

One night, Mingyu had asked Seungcheol to spend the night with them in the Alpha den. "Where is Seungkwan?" Seungcheol asked, seeing the youngers bed was empty despite it being late at night.

"He's with the Beta's." Wonwoo said with a sigh. "He knew we were going to talk about our old leader, and he did not want to be part of it." He added.

Seungcheol nodded in understandment.

"I still remember the day our old leader left," Mingyu began, his voice tinged with bitterness. "We were lost, confused, wondering what we had done wrong."

Seungcheol listened attentively, he knew all too well the pain of abandonment, the uncertainty of not knowing what the future held.

"We trusted him. We followed him without question. And then he was just... gone." Mingyu continuted, the wounds left by their old leader's departure so ran deep.

"We thought we were a family. But he left us behind, like we didn't matter." Vernon said, his voice shaking slightly, this was a new sight to Seungcheol, Vernon rarely showed his emotional side.

"You do matter," Seungcheol said firmly. "And I won't make the same mistake as he did. I'm here for you, no matter what." Seungcheol said, placing a hand on Vernon's leg.

"Do you guys understand me?" Seungcheol asked as they all nodded. "Good, now who wants to have a cuddle party?" He asked.

"ME!" Mingyu said, tackling Seungcheol to the floor, Vernon joining the hug shortly after.

"Come on Wonwoo." Mingyu huffed.

"It's going to be so hot and stuffy though." Wonwoo whined.

"Deal with it!" Both Vernon and Mingyu yelled at the same time as they yanked Wonwoo onto the floor with them into the group hug.
