That night, Jeonghan sat alone in the Beta den, the others still out celebrating in the forest.

His heart felt heavy with the weight of his emotions, memories of their former leader's departure haunting his thoughts.

The pain of that loss still lingered, a constant ache that seemed to seep into every corner of his being whenever he thought about it.

As Jeonghan closed his eyes, he tried to push away the memories, to bury the hurt deep within himself where it couldn't touch him.

But no matter how hard he tried to suppress it, the pain still found a way back into Jeonghan's mind.

In an attempt to distract himself from all thats going on, Jeonghan busied himself with small tasks around the den, straightening his belongings and tidying up the space.

But no matter how much he tried to occupy his mind, his thoughts kept drifting back to Seungcheol now - the Alpha who had stepped in to lead them.

Jeonghan couldn't deny the warmth he felt whenever he was near Seungcheol, the way his heart seemed to skip a beat whenever their eyes met.

But he also couldn't ignore the fear that lingered in the back of his mind - fear of opening himself up to the possibility of being hurt again, fear of allowing himself to care too deeply for someone who might not feel the same way.

With a frustrated sigh, Jeonghan sank down onto his bed, his head resting in his hands.

He knew that ignoring his feelings wouldn't make them disappear, but the thought of confronting them filled him with a sense of dread.

But as he sat in the quiet of his den, surrounded by the echoes of his own thoughts, Jeonghan realized that he couldn't keep running from his feelings forever.

Whether he liked it or not, Seungcheol had managed to find his way into Jeonghan's heart, and ignoring that fact would only leave him feeling more alone.

Hey, Jeonghan," Joshua called as he entered the den. "What are you doing in here alone?" He asked.

"I don't know." Jeonghan shrugged, trying to smile, though it didn't quite reach his eyes. "Can I talk to you?" He asked.

"Of course," he said softly, gesturing for Jeonghan to take a seat beside him. "What's on your mind?"

As Jeonghan settled onto the ground beside Joshua. "It's... it's about Seungcheol," he began, his voice hesitant. "I... I think I might have feelings for him."

Joshua's eyes widened in surprise. "I see," he said after a moment. "And how do you feel about that?" He asked.

Jeonghan sighed in frustration. "I don't know," he admitted, his voice filled with uncertainty.

"It's just... ever since he became our leader, I can't seem to get him out of my head. But with everything that's happened with our last leader leaving, I'm scared to let myself care for someone again." Jeonghan admitted

Joshua reached out, placing his hand on Jeonghan's. "I understand," he said softly. "But sometimes, taking a risk and opening your heart to someone can lead to beautiful things."

"I know," Jeonghan sighed. "But what if he doesn't feel the same way? What if I'm just setting myself up for heartache all over again?" He asked.

Joshua's expression softened with empathy as he listened to Jeonghan's fears.

"I can't promise you that everything will work out perfectly," The younger said.

"But what I can tell you is that you'll never know unless you take that chance. And no matter what happens, you'll always have your pack to support you." Joshua added.

Jeonghan leaned over and rested his head on Joshua's shoulder. "Thank you, Joshua, I needed to hear that." Jeonghan said.

"Anytime," Joshua smiled. "Whatever you decide, I'll be here for you."

As they sat together in the Beta den, Jeonghan felt a small part of the weight begin to lift.
