The next morning power was still out all over Beacon Hills due to the blackout that happened last night because of Barrow trying to kill Kira. Irene made her way through the hall but flinched when Coach suddenly yelled into a megaphone

"Class starts in five minutes! Just because there's no power, don't expect there to be no school!" He yelled

"That was a triple negative. Very impressive, Coach" Stiles said as he opened up his locker. Irene let out a faint snort as she opened up her locker beside him

"Copy that!" Coach said into the megaphone before walking off

"Oops!" Stiles muttered as he dropped his keys "Hello... Where did you come from?"

Irene closed her locker after putting her bag and jacket inside but she froze when she saw Scott walk into the school, looking down the hallway with a look of longing in his eyes. She looked over her shoulder to see what he was looking at and saw him looking at Kira

"No. No, stop! Stop!" Stiles said as he stopped Scott

"What? I need to talk to her" Scott argued

"No, you need to remember someone left a coded message telling Barrow to kill her"

"Which is why I need to talk to her-"

"Scott, no way! Until we figure out if she's just another psychotic monster that's going to start murdering everybody, I vote against any and all interaction!"

"What if she's like me?"

"That girl walked through one-point-twenty-one gigawatts of electricity... She's not like us" Irene told her friend softly, looking over at Kira before walking off to her first class.

After sitting down in her seat Irene noticed Aiden sitting down beside Lydia who was busy talking to the teacher. Her mother.

"Sweetheart, since this is my first class and I haven't taught in five years, I just want to remind you of one thing... Try not to embarrass me"

"You should have thought of that before wearing those shoes" Lydia muttered before grinning at her mother "Love you"

"Love you, too" Her mother smiled before walking to the front of the class to sit down

"Why's your mom teaching biology?" Aiden asked Lydia

"Because Mr. Harris used to teach biology... until his new occupation... Human sacrifice" Lydia replied

"What? I didn't kill him" Aiden said in offense "Lydia, what?"

"The other night, I helped save someone's life... That felt really good. And I look at you and all I can think is that you helped kill Boyd. You're not just a bad boy, Aiden. You're a bad guy. And I don't want to be with the bad guy."

Irene looked up and made eye contact with Aiden. She felt bad for him. Because while she truly believed he was trying to change, nobody else did. It was like she was the only one who had faith in the twins.

At lunch Irene found herself sitting at a table outside on the grass, enjoying her book of Japanese folklore that she had found in the library. There was something about Kira that was bothering her and she was determined to figure out what it was

"Earth to Irene" Someone said, clearing their throat and bringing Irene back to reality

"Oh hey Ethan- and Danny... and Aiden- I swear whoever smashed those vending machines it wasn't me! This time..."

"That's not what- That was you?!" Danny asked in shock

"Besides the point. What's up guys?"

"We want to plan a party tonight. But we're gonna need your help" Ethan said, sitting down beside her but quickly noticed the book she was reading "Japanese Folklore?"
