(Scott is narrating this scene)

"I honestly don't know if he's ever coming back. And part of me hopes so, but another part hopes that maybe he'll be okay somewhere else... My dad doesn't look like he's going to be leaving for a while. But just because he's staying doesn't mean he's welcome."

Scott walked into the high school alone, holding onto his backpack as he looked down the hallway full of students

"Stiles and I both feel it every day, just like you said we would. It makes me think about that quote Jennifer used to start our first class. Because when I feel it, it's like I'm looking into the heart of an immense darkness"

"So what do you do instead?" Deaton asked Scott

"I look for my friends" He replied

Scott looked to his left to see Aiden and Lydia flirting in the hallway by her locker and then Danny and Ethan walking out of a classroom nearby, hand in hand. Looking up, Scott saw Allison and Isaac walking down the stairs together, talking and laughing.

Suddenly Stiles came up behind Scott and put an arm around him, smiling at him while Irene appeared on the other side, linking her arm with Scott and patting his chest as they headed off to their class, smiling at him

"I always look for my friends"

"Isaac, slow down!"

"Why? Struggling to catch up?" Isaac grinned

Irene panted heavily as she paused for a moment, pressing her hands onto her legs as she took a second to catch her breath. She stood up straight and placed her hands on her hips as she looked up at Isaac

"You're having too much fun with this"

"What, me being better than you~" He smirked, winking at her

"Oh really?" She let out a playfully annoyed laugh and ran after him as he ran around the field

Irene had managed to tackle Isaac to the ground, leaning backwards as she lay on his back in a relaxing way, looking up at the sky with her arms behind her head. They both ended up looking up after hearing a familiar laugh approaching them.

"I see you brought your own beanbag" The guy chuckled "Where can I get one?"

"Oh morning Danny!" She smiled as she got off Isaac, lightly pushing him over as she went over to Danny, sharing a brief hug

"You make gym class entertaining"

"Aww thank you" She smiled, acting very dramatic, earning a playful shoulder nudge from him as she giggled.

They had gym class today and because of the nice weather Coach decided to have the sports outside on the lacrosse field. Some people were running track like Irene and Isaac and then some other people were practicing Lacrosse or football. She squinted her eyes and covered the sun from her eyes with her hand

"Why is it so damn sunny? I should really buy sunglasses"

"Or ask Lydia" Danny joked

Isaac came up behind her and rested his arms on her shoulders and head, using her as a sort of armrest. Danny must have noticed the slightly annoyed expression on her face as he let out a humorous exhale before jogging back to some of his friends. Once he was gone she looked up at Isaac

"I am not an armrest you know!"

"Perfect height for one"

"Seriously? Hey, have you seen Scott today?" She asked, now becoming more serious and concerned for her friend
