Days turned into weeks, each one filled with the same routine of desire and despair. Aari's mind raced with plans and strategies, her resolve hardening with each passing day. She knew she had to be careful, to bide her time until the perfect moment presented itself.

One evening, as they sat together in the dim light of their living room, Aari decided it was time to take the first step. She looked into Theo's eyes, searching for any hint of the darkness that lurked within him. Taking a deep breath, she steeled herself for what was to come.

"Theo," she began, her voice steady despite the turmoil within her. "We need to talk."

He looked at her, his eyes narrowing slightly. "About what?"

Aari hesitated for a moment, gathering her thoughts. "About us. About everything that's been happening between us."

Theo's expression darkened, a flicker of anger crossing his features. "What do you mean?"

Aari took another deep breath, forcing herself to meet his gaze. "I can't keep pretending that everything is fine. There's something wrong between us, something that needs to be addressed."

Theo's jaw tightened, his eyes flashing with a dangerous intensity. "What are you talking about, Aari?"

She swallowed hard, pushing past her fear. "I feel like I'm losing myself in this relationship, like I'm drowning in a sea of lies and deceit. I need to know the truth, Theo. I need to understand what's really going on."

For a moment, there was silence, the tension between them palpable. Then, with a sudden, violent movement, Theo grabbed her arm, his grip bruising. "You don't know what you're talking about," he hissed, his eyes blazing with fury.

Aari winced, pain shooting through her arm. "Theo, please," she pleaded, her voice trembling. "I just want to understand. I need to know the truth."

Theo's grip tightened, his face contorted with rage. "You don't need to know anything," he snarled. "You belong to me, Aari. You're mine, and you'll do as I say."

Fear surged through Aari, but she forced herself to stay calm. "Theo, this isn't love," she whispered, her voice shaking. "This is something else, something darker. I need to break free from this."

Theo's eyes bore into hers, his grip unyielding. "You think you can leave me?" he spat, his voice dripping with venom. "You're nothing without me, Aari. You'll never be free."

And then he slapped her.

Aari felt her resolve harden. The sting from Theo's slap lingered, but it only fueled the fire inside her. She wasn't going to let him dominate her any longer. Standing up, she squared her shoulders, her eyes blazing with determination.

"Theo," she said, her voice strong despite the tremor in her heart, "we're done. I can't do this anymore. I won't let you control me any longer."

Theo's face contorted with rage, and before she could react, he pushed her against the wall. His hand wrapped around her neck, squeezing just enough to make her gasp for breath. His eyes were wild, a dangerous glint in them as he leaned in close.

"I'll never leave you," he hissed, his breath hot against her ear. "You belong to me, Aari. You're mine, and you'll never escape."

Aari's heart pounded, but she met his gaze without flinching. "We're done, Theo," she said, her voice barely a whisper but firm. "You can't keep me here. I won't let you."

The fury in Theo's eyes blazed even hotter. Without warning, he drew back his hand and slapped her hard across the face. The force of the blow sent her head snapping to the side, pain exploding through her cheek.
