"Whether my feelings come true or not, I will never love you."
My mouth just moved... Am I the one... who is saying these... Thoughtless words...? Ezekiel pondered as he witnessed the lucid dream once more.
The dream in which he watched his beloved's face burst into an unending torrent of tears while he had to stand motionless like a statue.
No... She isn't the Jennette I know... And these are not my feelings... Frustration, Anger, Fed up... These... Cruel words are not mine-
"Like the way I have been slowly exhausting myself by being with you, I am sure you were feeling the same. So let's stop now. You can't always have your way with me."
Ezekiel had to drag his feet as quickly as they could carry him away from the somber scene. Everywhere. Anywhere.
What is this... Resentment I am feeling?
Neither his body nor his emotions were under Ezekiel's control. Where his own limps led him was unknown to him. However, he halted at one spot before running in the direction he had just left as the earth began to tremble and a frightening wave of energy surged.
There he saw Jennette was screaming while kneeling on the ground. The intensity of the energy increased with Jennette's cries.
Out of thin air, Ezekiel saw familiar faces. Athanasia and Lucas; they dressed in a very odd clothes. Ezekiel intended to question them, but he saw nothing but whiteness after being struck by a shockwave energy blast.
When Ezekiel awoke, he was motionless on the bed. He breathed heavily, gasping, almost screaming his beloved's name just to make sure she was close by.
However, he trusted his gut and bit his tongue. Even though he was becoming accustomed to the dream's structure, how it always seemed to start and end, his heartbeat was still racing and he was still perspiring.
At least now he was in control of his body and the current priority was to clear his mind and calm his heart.
In an attempt to locate the small bulb near the bedside, Ezekiel instinctively reached his hand to the counter before opening his eyes. Only the cushion's seemingly limitless softness was within his reach. It was only a moment before he realized it was not his room.
A chill crept over him as he registered back into reality. His body trembled a little because of the nudity surrounding his chest and upper body.
Trying to gaze out of the window in a haze, he pulled his body to sit. The only source of light that guided him was the lamppost outside his window, which was hardly perceptible due to the unrelenting whiteness outside.
His throat was dry and dehydrated from all the perspiration. Ezekiel gazed around. Usually, he set a glass of water by the counter near the bed at home. It was for Jennette who would venture out to find a glass of water at three in the morning and she came back complaining about having to go downstairs for it. Sometimes she lost her sleep simply from waking up and walking down the stairs. So Ezekiel compromised and it became a habit where he brought a glass of water to bed.
This time, it was no different when he saw a cup by that counter and Ezekiel was thankful for that habit of his.
That light provided adequate illumination for the room, and it also helped him to grip the cup on the nightstand. He started drinking it. Curing his dehydration was his top priority, even though it was quite bitter on the aftertaste.
With a little sigh of relief, Ezekiel returned the cup to its original position. Another rush of frigid air surrounded his body as it slowly crept into the atmosphere. He instinctly tried to feel his bare chest. Cold sweat had matted it.
