Cordelia Lyra Malfoy had always been different from the rest of her family. Her family were blood-supremacists who tried to teach their views to their children. Cordelia never believed with their views and would be punished for it.

October came and all anyone could talk about was the tournament. Everyone spoke about it, speculating who was entering and who would be chosen. Cordelia wasn't as excited as most people. Sure, it was exciting, but she had other interests and other things on her mind to worry about.
She still enjoyed playing on her ukulele and guitar. She was often seen outside, playing on one of the instruments. This had caught the attention of some of the Durmstrang boys who would flirt with her, and she would often flirt back, but only out of a need to be friendly. Some of the Beauxbatons girls would compliment her on her voice. A particularly beautiful Beauxbatons girl with dark hair, gray eyes, and plump lips found Cordelia's singing to be very interesting. She would watch Cordelia from afar, but would never speak to her.
She hadn't forgotten about her goal to figure out what she wanted to do after Hogwarts. She still had no idea what she wanted to do for her career, The more the blonde girl thought about it, the more anxious she felt.
She still didn't know where she stood with Fred. He never said anything about the kiss. She knew that she should say something if he wasn't going to, but she hated confrontation and was afraid of rejection. Another part of her thought that, if he wanted something out of it, he would have said something by now. Fred continued to flirt with her and would occasionally hold her hand, but she was still worried that he regretted the kiss.
The tournament suddenly became more important to Cordelia on October 12th. It was two days after Cedric's seventeenth birthday when he nervously approached his adopted sister.
"How would you feel if I entered my name in the tournament?" he asked, nervously rubbing the back of his neck as he looked down at her.
Cordelia looked at him for a few seconds as she thought about her response, observing Cedric's hopeful and nervous demeanor. She didn't want him to be a part of a dangerous competition. The thought of him getting hurt during a task terrified her. But the hopeful look on his face made her realize that this is what he really wanted. She knew that he wouldn't do it without his support, and she couldn't bring herself to deny him that.
"Well... I would be nervous for you... And I would be afraid for you throughout the whole thing," she responded, causing Cedric's nervous smile to fall. "...But I would be supportive every step of the way."
Cedric beamed at his sister with a wide smile and embraced her in a hug, "And this is why you're the world's best sister! I was afraid you'd be upset."
"I could never be upset with you, Ced," she assured him. "Besides, you don't need my permission. It isn't my decision."

Cordelia was sitting in the Great Hall one afternoon with Hermione and Kiana. When meals were not being served, the hall was transformed to showcase the Goblet of Fire. The benches were pulled to the side and the goblet was in the center of the room.
