~* Chapter 28 *~~* Dancing & Kissing *~
On the night of the Yule Ball, Kiana and Cordelia snuck into Gryffindor Tower to get ready with Hermione and Ginny. If there was one thing that Cordelia missed about the Malfoy's fancy balls, it was dressing up. She wasn't a girly-girl who wore a lot of makeup or spent a lot of time on her hair, but she did enjoy wearing the beautiful dress and pretty pair of shoes when the occasion called for it.
Before getting into their dresses, the four girls paired up to do their hair and makeup. The girls paired off in order to make the process faster and be more fun. Kiana a Ginny paired together, while Hermione helped Cordelia with her hair. Since her hair was shoulder-length, they went with a low up-do with added sparkles. She did her makeup somewhat plain, just using a little foundation, eyeliner and mascara, but she did finish it off with some gold and purple sparkly eye shadow. When they were done with her, she helped Hermione with her hair and makeup as well.
Adele had sent Cordelia's outfit, which consisted of a beautiful, floor-length purple dress that Cordelia adored. It was a sleeveless dress with ruffles and the shoulders. The waist had a jeweled belt sewn in with jewels trickling down from it as if they were snowflakes. The tulle fabric flared below the waist and reached her ankles. Her shoes were black high heels with jewels going across the foot. Of course, she wore her charm bracelet on her left wrist. She never went a day without out, and this ball was no exception. She completed her outfit with a beautiful diamond necklace that Adele said was a Diggory family heirloom passed down to the eldest girl in every generation. Cordelia was touched that Adele would give her a family heirloom; she really did feel a part of the family.
"Fred is going to flip when he sees you!" Kiana squealed excitedly, watching her friend inspect herself in the mirror. Kiana was not a girly-girl at all, but this ball was bringing out that side of her.
"I can say the same for Lee," Cordelia replied with a grin. "You look great!"
Kiana had worn a dark blue strapless dress that went down to the floor. The bust was form fitting and had fabric and gems sewn in that traveled to her hip. She wore her makeup much like Cordelia's, only with dark eye shadow. Her shoes were black with a chunky heel and straps on the ankles. Her hair had a braid on one side of her head that went into a messy but elegant ponytail with bits of hair sticking out to frame her face.
"Ginny, you look so grown up," Cordelia complimented the youngest girl.
Ginny giggled and spun in her dress, feeling like a princess. Her dress had a blue bust that rested near her collar bone and covered her shoulders and hugged her waist. The bottom half of the dress had a white base with blue tulle covering it. The whole dress was completed with white snowflakes all over it.
"Hermione, Viktor is lucky," said Kiana, causing Hermione to bush.
Hermione wore a pink low-cut dress with ruffles on the sleeve as well as coming from the waist. The bust was low cut in a heart shape.
"I think we all look wonderful," said Cordelia as beamed at their appearance while they stood in front of the mirror together.
When they walked into the common room, they saw Colin Creevey taking pictures. Much like Ginny, he was a third year student but was asked by a fourth year student and was able to attend.
"Let me get a picture of you!" Colin shouted at the girls who posed for a picture.
"Are you going to be taking pictures all night?" asked Cordelia, after Colin's camera flashed.
