For the next few weeks, Cordelia and her friends were busy with cleaning the house. They would spend a day in each room using towels and buckets of soap water to decontaminate and clear dust from the surfaces. Fred, George, and Cordelia would naturally use their newly allowed magic to clean when Molly wasn't looking. Sirius and Molly would investigate the objects in each room before allowing anyone to touch anything.

During the meetings, Cordelia spent her time in the twin's room and helped them with their plans to open the new shop. She played her guitar and ukulele mostly in her room, though she would sometimes venture into the shared rooms of the house. Cordelia was considerate of Tonks, knowing the Auror needed her sleep, and only played when the Auror wasn't there.

Cordelia also wrote to her parents, as well as Kiana, once a week. It was decided that letters could not be sent from Grimmauld Place in order to keep the owls flying around at minimum. So, Tonks would take the letters to work with her, and she would send them there. The owls would then return letters to Tonk's office, allowing Tonks to bring the letters to Cordelia after her shift.

Of course, no mention of the Order the location of where Cordelia was staying was allowed. So she had to be discreet. Cordelia had learned that her best friend was spending the summer with Lee, and was recovering from her grief of losing Cedric just as she was. It was hard on Cordelia to not be open and honest with her best friend; and she wished she could be there for her in person. But she knew how important it was. Her parents letters were a little difficult to decipher because they had to be even more discreet, but it seemed that they were comfortable in Greece.

One night, the group was finishing dinner in the kitchen when Sirius stood and addressed Cordelia. "Cordelia, would you please come with me? I have a surprise for you."

"Yeah, sure," Cordelia said with confusion in her voice.

Cordelia stood from her seat and followed Sirius out of the kitchen and up the stairs. The others looked at one another and decided to follow the two, being curious about it themselves.

After walking past the bedrooms, they landed on a new floor that they have not cleaned out yet. Sirius opened a door and revealed a room that was bright from the sun shining through the large windows. The room had bookshelves that went floor to ceiling on two of the walls. There were two comfortable sofas in the middle of the room, along with small side tables.

"Look at all the books!" exclaimed Hermione, her eyes wide in excitement.

"No, the piano!" responded Cordelia, after letting out a gasp when she saw a beautiful piano standing against the third wall. She quickly approached the piano and opened the lid, stroking her fingers on the keys.
