School started again and the spring term was filled with a heavy workload. The professors were assigning the seventh years with a massive amount of assignments. Cordelia was feeling the pressure, and was constantly overwhelmed as they prepared for the NEWT exams.

Cordelia and Kiana studied in the library whenever they weren't with the twins or Lee. When the boys joined them, Lee attempted to study but the twins never did. Instead, they used that time to plan their inventions. Oftentimes, Lee would give up on studying and would join the twins in their shenanigans.

More Decrees were set in place, limiting more of the students' freedoms. One day, Cordelia and Fred were sitting on a bench, sharing an innocent kiss, when a bolt of electricity went through their bodies as they felt a force push them apart. The couple looked around in shock to see Professor Umbridge giving them a smug smile a few feet away.

A new Decree was passed the next day: "Boys and girls must be eight inches apart at all times."

"Looks like you have another Decree. Wait until our parents hear about this," George joked to Fred and Cordelia.

"You wouldn't!" Cordelia protested.

"I don't like this Decree at all," Fred muttered as he shook his head, folding his arms over his chest.

"I saw what happened in the corridor the other day with Umbridge. That must have been a surprise," Anthony muttered as he and Cordelia worked together in potions class.

"Yeah, that shock of electricity was a little painful," she responded with a chuckle. She was cutting the scurvy grass for their Befuddlement Draughts as they spoke.

"Probably embarrassing, too," he muttered under his breath. "Is that a ring on your finger?" he asked, noticing her finger as he gathered the grass she had already cut.

Cordelia smiled as she stopped cutting to admire her ring. "Yeah, isn't it beautiful?"

Anthony scoffed and rolled his eyes, "It's a little pathetic for an engagement ring."

Cordelia turned to Anthony, looking annoyed. "First off, it's a promise ring; not an engagement ring. Secondly, it's perfect, even if it was."

Anthony rolled his eyes as he stirred the cauldron. "Yeah, whatever," he muttered.

"What is your problem, Anthony?" Cordelia questioned in annoyance as she added the lovage to the Cauldron as Anthony continued stirring.

Anthony sighed as he kept his eyes on the cauldron. "I just don't think Fred is right for you is all."

Cordelia rolled her eyes and laughed. "Is that so? And who else would that be?"

Anthony shrugged his shoulders before adding the frog brains to the cauldron. "Cedric was rooting for us, you know. He told me so every time I talked about you."
