"Asuma Sensei." I heard someone call for the name of the person that walked beside me. Our heads turned to follow the voice. I saw a team of three running our way.

"Are they yours?" I asked my long time friend. He nodded his head beside me as he watched his team get closer.

He introduced me to them. I had been away from the village for 5 years and a lot had changed. One of them being my long time friend now had a team of his own.

"Ino, Choji, Shikamaru, I would like you to met (Y/N)." Asuma patted me on the back of my shoulder and then gave it a tight squeeze. "(Y/N) and I used to go to school together. She has been on a mission for the last five year. Just got back today." Asuma smiled down at me. I couldn't help the slight blush that ran to me cheeks. He looked proud of me for the sacrifice I had made for the village. Proud of the years that I spent away collecting intel to bring back.

"Five years," Ino gushed. "That's such a long time to be away from home. What was it like?" She seemed curious. The one introduced to me as Choji also seemed interested to see what kind of life they were potentially getting themselves into. The third, Shikamaru, seemed like he didn't care about what I had to say. Something about it was interesting to me. He was an intriguing character and I could see why Asuma liked him so much.

Asuma changed the subject that Ino tried to get out of me. "Not yet." He warned both of us. Not until he treated us to BBQ.

It was a good time with a lot of questions throw my way. With every question I glanced at Asuma waiting for a slight signal before responding. I didn't want to tell his team anything they weren't ready for. I kept my answers surface level and tried to divulge as little information as possible. It was hard with Ino's incessant questions.

I also spent our time catching up time to what I had missed in the five years that I had been gone. I missed being home. I missed these moments. I had no intention to leave the village again. Especially the four who accompanied me to lunch. I instantly felt at peace in their presence.

"(Y/N) if you aren't ready in five minutes I'm leaving without you." Asuma's husky voice shouted at me from the living room.

"Yes dad." I huffed as I walked into the room with him.

"You know I prefer Daddy." Asuma smirked at me.

"I do recall Daddy." I gave him a flirtatious smirk as old memories of our past flushed my mind. "Kurenia tells me your habits haven't changed." I roll my eyes at him as I walk towards him.

"Hey you had your chance for things to work out but you ran away for five years. I had to move on."

"She's better for you anyways Daddy." I smacked his chest as I walked past him. I headed towards the door to grab my shoes.

"You know (Y/N) we aren't official or anything. I'm still on the market for your choosing. We can always pick up where we left off." He gave me a wink as he opened the door for us to leave. I walked out the door of my apartment with him. I locked the door before returning to his side as we walked towards the bar. Asuma was throwing me a little get together now that I was back home. I was excited to see all my friends again.

"Asuma as much as I want to I think I'll pass. I don't want to piss off Kurenia. And I like her for you." I gave him a big convincing smile.

"If you say so baby." He nudged me with his elbow as he walked along side of me.
