Shino - Underneath It All 🍋

He hide behind his clothes. They were just the first layer hiding himself. But I saw something under those dark shades. Something underneath it all. Under all his layers.

"Shino." I called for him. He didn't turn his attention way from the insect on his finger. "Bubs." I tried to call again for his attention. My hand snaked around his neck near his shoulder. I gave him a gentle squeeze.

"Hi cricket." He still didn't turn is attention towards me.

"What have I said about that nickname." I leaned my head onto his shoulder and glanced at the insect he was examining.

"You don't like it." He still didn't look at me.

"Because I know it's your way of calling me annoying."

Shino placed his bug into a tube and then tucked the tube into his jacket. Finally he turned his attention to me.

"You're not annoying cricket." Shino's hands found their way to my waist as he embraced me in a hug. I tucked my head into the crook of his neck.

"I missed you." I took a deep breath of his smell. The earthy smell made me feel at home. "Did you miss me bubs?" Shino's arms snaked further around my body.

"Of course my orchid."

"Orchid? That's new." I pulled myself back slightly from his grasp so I could look into his eyes.

"The Orchid Mantis." He gave me a kiss on the nose as if it was a definitive answer to my question.

"Tell me about it Shino." I grabbed his hand and lead him towards the exit of his office.

"They are a flowery predator. They look like an orchid but they are actually savage killers. Prey approach them with dreams of sweet nectar and nutrients from the orchid but that is their ruse. They attract their pray before killing them. Much like you my orchid." He gave my hand a gentle squeeze as we continued walking towards our shared home. "You are a ruthless assassin on your missions. Your looks draw in your opponent before you kill them."

"And who said I killed anyone on my mission?" I raised an eyebrow to question him.

"I know you my orchid. You would not have been sent you on a mission that did not involve blood on your beautiful hands." He brought my hand up to his lips. They were soft against my tainted skin.

"And what does that make you bubs?"

"Me?" He let out a slightly chuckle. "The one you have trapped. When you return home your turn nature is shown."

"Ah." I acted like that answer my question. "And what was that called again? Something ugly right."

"A tarantula hawk."

"Tell me about it Shino." I squeezed his hand.

"It is true an orchid mantis is much more beautiful than a hawk. But a tarantula hawk has a nature much like what you have done to me."

"And what is that bubs?" I swung our jointed hands as we walked around the corner of the road in which our home resided on.

"You have paralyzed me. And then brought me to your home to have your way with me."

"It is our home Shino." I scolded him as we walked onto the stoop. Shino rummaged in his pocket looking for his key. I plucked mine out of my pocket before he could get to his. I placed the key in the door and opened it for the both of us.

Once we were inside I blocked his body against the door. "I do not like you acting like I am the one that trapped you."

Shino looked down at how my body currently had him pinned. "My hawk," his voice softened. "Look at you. It is a primal instinct for you to be dominate. I did not say I did not like it." He brought his lips to mine. "You are an ant and I love every bit of it." He words were absorbed by my mouth. I missed him dearly. I needed him. A month long mission was too far away from my prey. He was mine. I would enjoy every bit of him before claiming him.
