I had just returned from my first official mission. It was the new life Hashirama had designed for us. Missions were given out based to rank. That rank depended on ones strength and missions were classified according to difficulty. It was new but interesting. I took the opportunity as a chance to grow and prove myself. As a female in my clan I was often looked down upon. But Hashirama never cared for that. He saw my stengthens and weaknesses and allowed me an opportunity to prove myself.

My clan had recently joined into the newly founded Konoha village. It was a new start for all of us. As a Hatake that was often underestimated for my strength because I was a women, I relished in this new found freedom. Given to me by none other than our new leader. Hashirama was now our Hokage. Our protecter. It was a natural role for him. And I fell into the interworks of my new village faster than I could have imagined. Having a village to call home was new to me but it filled a void a didn't know was missing. But now that I had been here for a couple of months and had gone on my first mission I was certain there was one more thing missing.

My mission was beyond a success. I had not only prevailed for my village and proven myself as a mighty warrior but I also gathered information that would help our village thrive. I was as excited to share my knowledge with Hashirama as I made my way to his office. It was a newly founded building that I was told would house the secrect of our village. Secrets like the ones I had just gained. An advantage over the other villages growing around the region.

When I walked into Hashirama's building I was greeted by someone who claimed to be a guard of the Hokage. During my time away there were knew procedures put in place when seeking the attention of the Hokage. I didn't understand why I had to accommodate to these formalities. I knew Hashirama better than people knew. He was the one that pushed me to stand up for myself on this mission. He believed in me. Yet now when I returned to him I was no longer greeted with his smile but rather the ins and outs of his business side. It made me feel uneasy. This was not the feeling I wanted when returning to him.

"(Y/N)," I heard Hashirama's familiar voice as he entered the room I was told to wait for him in. Based on the large desk in the room I assumed it was now his office.

I didn't turn my attention to him. For some reason I still felt uneasy even after hearing his voice. I kept my guard up as I informed him of my mission. I omitted the information that I was so eager to tell him earlier. For an unknown reason my gut told me to hold off on the information. Maybe until I could decipher what the man Hashirama had become in my absence might do with said information. I was on guard.

"Sounds like a successful mission." Hashirama boomed with excitement for me.

"Indeed it was." I tired to put on my best fake smile, but he saw through it.

"What is it (Y/N)?"

"I'm sorry?" I stalled.

"You seem distant. Distracted perhaps."

"No no it's nothing Hashirama. Just excited to be home." I let out a sigh and a half smile.

"Are you sure buttercup?" His eyes questioned me more than his words. The use of his pet name for me was a desperate attempt to reach me.

"Yes." I nodded trying to convince myself more than him.

"Alright." He dismissed my uneasiness. "Shall I be seeing you tonight?"

"No. I'm busy. Still trying to acquaint myself with the other villagers." I glanced over his shoulder and out the window that overlooked the growing village.

"You know you don't need anyone else when you have me flower." Hashirama said with certainty.

"I'm not so sure about that Hashirama." The words came out sharper than I intended.
