I barely heard the door of the establishment open but my body reacted with recognition. Chills ran down my spine in a way only he could elicit. It had been two years since I saw him but I couldn't deny my physical response to being close to him.

Sasuke sat down next to me without a word. I didn't even glance his way as I sipped on my beer.

"No warm welcome?" He finally asked me after his own beer arrived. He always greeted me this way. Along with my physical reaction to him some things would never change.

"What are you doing here?" I asked without even looking at him.

"I heard of a woman in this town matching a description of someone I knew in my past. I couldn't help but investigate myself. Truth be told I have been looking for her."

"Well I hope you find her." I took a long drink of my beer and slammed the empty glass on the bar top. Gaining the attention of the bartender I asked for another.

"You aren't happy to see me dove?" I could feel his eyes on me but I couldn't bring myself to look at him. Instead I took a sip of my newly filled beer.

"I understand you don't want to admit how much you missed me." Sasuke chuckled to himself as his arrogance got the best of him.

"I missed you?" I questioned. "I didn't know that."

"Yes you missed me dove." He said confidently as he drank from his own glass.

"Damn I have missed many people in my life but I wasn't aware you were one."

"I'm sorry about Guren." His somber voice irritated me.

"Don't speak of her like you know her." I spat at him. Finally my eyes locked on him. I took in his new look. I would be lying if I didn't admit how sexy he looked. The purple eye was new but I was very familiar with the onyx one. There was a piece of his bangs coming out from under his head wrap and going in between his eyes. Drawing attention to them.

"I know she ran away with a child. Someone who wasn't you. And left you behind like you were nothing to her. I know you looked up to her like a sister. And she left you behind like you were a burden."

"Is that all I am Sasuke? A burden to everyone in my life." I questioned him. I couldn't hide the sadness in my voice. I almost did. I would have fooled anyone who didn't know me. But unfortunately he knew me.

"No dove nothing like that." Sasuke tried to reassure me with a small smile.

"I find that hard to believe." I scoffed as I drank more of my drink. Sasuke followed my lead. He drank more than me in one go to try to catch up to what I had already drank before he sat down.

"And why do you think that dove?" He asked with sincerity. I hated how much I was already falling for his act. Hated what he could do to me.

"Why did you choose her?" I asked with no indication of who I was talking about. Sasuke almost choked on his beer at my suddenness.

"Who?" He tried to fluff off but I knew it was because he didn't know which one of his whores I was referring to.

"Karin." I looked at my drink in my hand but my appetite for liquor had vanished. "Rumor has it you choose her of all people to stand beside you in your little band of misfits."

"Because I needed her." Sasuke spoke with certainty.

"And you didn't need me?" I couldn't help but show the vulnerability in my voice.
