I tried to lie to myself in claiming this was the way to the market. But if I was being honest with myself I would acknowledge the fact that I had purposely taken a detour to find myself here. That I of was using the market as an excuse to get out of the house. To purposley walk past here.

But I was surprised by the sight in front of me. Neji and his team all carried boxes out of the compound. Anyone could tell he was moving out.

Neji had always talked to me about moving out. I had been on my own since I graduated the academy. In no fault of my own. My parents had both passed within months of each other when I was 12. I had been by myself since.

Neji always commented on how nice it must be to be on my own. I took his comments with a grain of salt. It was not my choice I was alone and sometimes I felt he was insensitive to my loss. He had also lost his father and it destroyed him. I thought Neji would have understood my position but it never clicked.

Those comments weren't the only times I thought of him as insensitive. Neji was a very caring boyfriend when we were together. He always tried to put me first. But he spoke with brutal honesty. Sometimes they weren't always the words wanted to hear from someone I was supposed to find comfort in. I snapped time after time before I finally lashed out and broke up with him.

I regretted my decision since the words let my mouth. But I was too proud to admit it. I needed to heal on my own without him. And each time I walked past the Hyuga compound or saw him around the village it sparked the desire in me to get better for him.

"(Y/N)," my name was called before I could alter my direction. Guy waved with enthusiasm in my direction. I gave him a weak smile as more eyes found me.

Guy quickly set down the box of Neji's things he was holding. He jogged over to me before I could register what was happening.

"What are you doing here youthful flower?" Guy asked me as he took both my hands in his and brought hem to his lips. He kissed my knuckles as he stared down at me.

"I was headed to the market." I commented quickly.

"This isn't the way from your place." Guy raised an eyebrow as he questioned me.

"Ah but you see I'm not coming from my place." The lie fell from my lips with ease. Guy didn't question me further but his eyes told me everything he was thinking.

Guy wrapped an arm around my shoulders and guided me towards the three people my age. "Come join us. We are exactly one person short. Seems perfect doesn't it flower?" He smiled at me.

"No." I rolled my eyes at his intentional obliviation but still followed his lead.

Once in front of Guy's students I felt an awkwardness around me. All Neji could do was stare at me. It was hard to look at him when he had such intensity behind his eyes.

"Hi." I tried. Neji was as cold as stone. I would think he was in shock.

"(Y/N) has come to help us move Neji out." Guy smiled as he tried to alleviate the pressure between us.

"I have not." I spun my attention off of Neji and onto Guy. "You dragged me over here when I said no."

"Oh semantics." He smiled as he picked up a box and put it in my arms.

"No I was clear you just don't listen to me." I placed the box back down on the ground.

"Common flower we need your help here." Guy stepped closer to me and grabbed one of my hands. With puppy dog eyes he brought the hand to his mouth and kissed my knuckles like he had previously. "I need your help flower."
