Braeden's POV

Flashback

A few days before the decisive battle...

"Braeden, I'm sure you already knew this, but you'll be the one facing Jin." Said Spex.

I nodded my head.

"I'll defeat him without a doubt." I said. "Jin probably thinks I haven't grown any stronger since our last fight. Especially since my Hyper Crystal was been cracked, but he's in for surprise. I got this."

"Same here for Kabir." Said Lee. "I couldn't put a scratch on him last time, but this time it'll be different."

"So how are we going to get Jin to come out and fight us?" Capri asked. "I feel like he won't show up if he sees all of us together."

"He may. But he may not." Said Heath. "Either way we aren't taking any chances."

"The thing is... the heroes don't need to be there in advance." Said Spex. "They know where Braeden is thanks to Riker's chains. When Jin sees Braeden go out all alone, that's when he'll show up."

"But it'll take all of us a while to get there to help split the villains up." Said Declan.

"That's where Lavana comes in..." Said Mr. Hart.

Lavana's POV

A day after Braeden returned to HPA...

"What's up Spex?" I asked. "You said you needed to talk to me?"

"That's right." Spex nodded. "Lavana... there's a war coming. One between the heroes and the villains. This is a special request from me to you. You'll be playing a key role in this war. Are you up for it?"

My eyes widened with shock when Spex told me what he needed from me.

"You... want me to learn how to use flame portals? Like Kyojiro's?! In just a few days?! That's nowhere near enough time!" I exclaimed.

"I'm sorry. I really am." Said Spex. "It's a lot of pressure."

I sighed before speaking.

"I want to be able to do this Spex..." I said. "I've felt like such a side character recently. I messed up in Detroit. And I basically watched everyone else fight after that..."

"Lavana." Spex said as he put his hand on my shoulder. "This plan will fail unless everyone plays their part... there's no such thing as a side character. From this point onward, you're..."

Braeden's POV

"I'M THE STARRRRRR! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" We could hear Lavana's voice booming from the other side of the portals.

"RAAAAHHH!"

"GRAAAAAHHH!" The army of villains yelled out battle cries as they rushed towards us.

"As expected." We heard Heath's voice through the communicators in our ears. "He's got his army with him."

"Everyone get ready!" Spex said as Jin and I glared at each other. "This is the beginning of the end!"

"Lenny, Capri, let's go!" I yelled.

"Right!" Lenny and Capri said.

The three of us jumped up into the air, as lightning shrouded my body.
