Journey To The Center Of The Petrova Household

𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞

When I opened my eyes the next morning the sky was dark. It looked to be around five in the morning and the sun was yet to rise. Easing myself out of bed I went into the closet and took out two large suitcases and one smaller one. I quietly walked around the room, filling one of them with clothes, shoes, cosmetics, toiletries and accessories. Then I filled the smaller suitcase with books and school supplies.

"Jasmine what are you doing?"

I glanced up and saw Valentino sitting upright while looking at me. Sighing I got up and sat on the edge of the bed. "I can't sit still while Father has his way. He made everyone believe that you were the one to break off your engagement to Andriana then he turned them against you and your family. I won't let this slide Valentino. That's why I'm going to Colombia."

"Jasmine."

"Last night I was livid. I wanted nothing more than to strangle him for what he did. How could he do this? To me? To you?"

"Jasmine."

"I don't care about myself Valentino, but what about you? He besmirched you, he..he made a mockery of our family. I will not stand on the sidelines and let him have the satisfaction of knowing he-"

Valentino pressed a finger against my lips and I immediately stopped talking. "You don't have to explain yourself to me. Ever. No matter what decision you make I'll always support you. I said this last night but you were already asleep so I'll say it again. I'll give up everything, I'll do anything and I'll go everywhere with you. From the top of the highest mountain to the bottom of the deepest ocean."

My shoulders sagged and I wrapped my arms around him in a tight embrace. "Why'd you wait until I fell asleep to say such romantic things?"
He chuckled and kissed me on my neck. "I'll say it to you as many times as you want amore mio."

𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨

"You're going to Colombia?!" Damen exclaimed.

I nodded and Jasmine and I held hands. "I'm sick of letting Ivan and Kazimir have their way. Years ago Kazimir seduced Andriana and took her from me. He bombed our mansion then he and Ivan went back to Colombia and told everyone that the reason the engagement was called off was because I cheated on Andriana when in fact it's the other way around. For how long will we let them do what they want?"

"So what do you intend to do?" Father asked.
"We're going to Colombia and I'm going to reintroduce Valentino to everyone," Jasmine said. "He will no longer be referred to as Andriana's ex fiance but my husband."
"Are you wandering into the belly of the beast by yourselves?"
"Not quite. Valentino called Xavier this morning and told him the plan. He and Aunt Nancy will be coming with us. Uncle Anthony will stay here with the rest of you."
"What about Rebecca? Will she and Andrès be going too?"

"Of course I'll be going," Rebecca said as she came down the stairs with her bags. "It's Carlos' milestone birthday so Ivan will undoubtedly show up with Andriana and Kazimir. The three of them under the same roof with Jasmine is bound to end in disaster. If I go I'll be able to meditate between them."

"Mom you're acting as though I'm going there to start a nuclear war," Jasmine laughed. "I'm only going home for three reasons. To clear up the controversy surrounding Valentino, to celebrate Abuelo's birthday and to spend some time with my familly."
"I'm sure you are. Andrès, Marisa, it's almost time to go! Make sure you don't leave anything behind okay?"

Not wanting to leave Marisa home while we were in Colombia Jasmine decided to bring her along. With the Spanish culture, food and people she'll feel right at home. Andrès had exams coming up next month and he needed to study but Rebecca wasn't about to leave him alone with Dean and Theodore without being there to keep an eye on him.
