"Expelled? But why?" Sabrina exclaimed.
"The drug incident," I replied. "My principal somehow found out about it and expelled me on the spot."
"Oh Jas I'm so sorry. I know how hard you worked for this. You used to study all hours of the night and even after a long shift at the clothing store you'd find time to study. But now all your hard work has gone down the drain."

I smiled and sat up in bed to clasp her hands in mine. "Forget about it alright? It's not important. Now that I'm no longer a college student I can focus on what is: being a wife to Valentino, a daughter to Mom, a daughter-in-law to Dad, a big sister to Andrès, a sister-in-law to you and Damen-" I paused for a moment and placed my hand on her stomach. "and an aunt to Gia."

Sabrina smiled back and the two of us shared a sisterly hug. When we pulled away I exhaled and patted her arms. "Now then. Let's start planning your baby shower. Last week I asked you to make a guest list. Did you make it?"

She produced a sheet of paper from her nightstand and handed it to me. "I invited some of Damen's friends and their wives as well as a few of my friends who have babies and small children of their own. Shakira and her sisters are on the list and so is Monique. Oh and I invited Evelyn, Collette and their mother too."

Nodding my head I picked up a notepad and pen to begin making notes while openly discussing the things I had in mind for the shower. Two hours later we had everything all planned out. We decided on a gold, silver and pink theme with bits of white here and there. These will also be the theme for the invitations which Dean will be in charge of making.

For the decorations we were having pink and gold balloons—both plain, metallic and sequined ones—and a balloon arch at the entrance to the dining hall where we'll be having the shower. We also wrote down the kind of flowers we were getting: pink, white and yellow roses, pastel pink tulips and white carnations, which were Sabrina's favorite flowers.

Around two pm we decided to take a break and head downstairs for lunch, happy with all we've accomplished so far.

"Are you ladies finished with your baby shower planning?" Valentino asked as the two of us took our seats at the table.
"Yup. We got a lot done in just two hours," I said.
"Are you feeling okay sweetheart?"
"Well of course honey. Why?"
"You were expelled today because of the drug incident. I just wanted to see if you were alright. I know how much you loved going to school and studying with your friends."

I smiled tenderly at the man next to me and clasped our hands together. "Yes, I did love going to school, but I love being with you more. And this is a good thing. It means we'll get to spend more time together and bond as a couple. Won't that be nice?"
"There's nothing I'd love more my darling."

Leaning forward I was just about to kiss him when the doorbell rang. Moving from her spot Carol went to answer it. As soon as she opened the door a multitude of voices could be heard from outside and I raised my eyebrows before glancing questioningly at Valentino. "Are you expecting someone babe?"
"No I have no idea who that is," he said. "Carol who's at the door?"

"Why it's us of course, my dear nephew!"

My eyes widened when Lisa and Ida entered with Macey, Annie and Rama right behind them, pulling their suitcases behind them while grinning ear to ear. You've got to be shitting me. The fuck are they doing here?

"Well this is a surprise," Dad said as he got up to greet his sisters-in-law. Although legally I don't think they were his sisters-in-law anymore since he and Chantelle have long since been divorced. But they were Valentino and Damen's aunts so I guess they had some rights being here.
