"These are the five topics that will be covered for your midterms. The exam format will include sixty multiple choice questions, twenty fill-in-the-blank questions and one short answer question," Professor Hart explained. "Midterms will begin on Monday the twelfth and will end on Friday the sixteenth. Study well."

With that Professor Hart dismissed the class.

"Man I hate midterms," Evelyn groaned as we packed up our stuff and left the lecture hall.
"I'm gonna start studying as soon as I get home," Collette decided. "I got just under ninety percent on my last midterm so I'd like to get a better grade this time around."
"I don't know why we're even in college. We're rich and in the Mafia. What am I gonna do with a degree in Microeconomics?"

I smiled. She did have a point. I was attending St Francis before I joined the Sangue Mafia and I was already in my second semester. I had a scholarship, I worked hard to get to where I am. I wasn't about to quit when I was already so close to graduating.

"Jasmine do you want to have a study session at our house? Our parents are out of town so we have the whole place to ourselves," Evelyn said as she opened up a pack of Skittles to take a few.
"I'm good Ev, but thanks for offering," I smiled and unlocked the BMW, depositing my bag and laptop in the backseat. "Tomorrow what say we head to the library during our free period to-"

"Jasmine!"

Morgan suddenly came up behind Evelyn and Collette and looped her arm through mine. "I'm glad I caught you. Is it possible for you to give me a ride? I'm supposed to meet someone in Prospect Park this afternoon."
"I'm sorry Morgan but I have to hurry home now so I can study," I apologized.
"Well aren't you living in Clinton Hill? Prospect Park is just a few minutes away. Come on, please?"
"Morgan I'd love to. But-"

Before I could even complete my sentence she was already jumping in the passenger seat. "Thanks Jas, I really appreciate it."

Damn it.

I turned back to Evelyn and Collette who had looks of disbelief painted on their faces. "Sorry girls I have to leave now."
"Jas I swear something is off about this girl," Evelyn whispered. "Everywhere we turn she's always there. I don't like her."
"Same here," Collette murmured. "Be careful okay? Just drop her off at Prospect Park then drive in the opposite direction. Don't let her see where you live and don't talk to anyone from your family until she's gone. For some reason I don't trust her."

"It's fine girls," I assured them. "I don't know why she's acting like this all of a sudden but I'm sure it's nothing to be concerned about. I'll text you later okay? Happy studying."
"Studying doesn't make me happy it makes me miserable," Evelyn grumbled. "But you, I am quite certain, will enjoy it. Little Miss Always-Has-Her-Nose-In-A-Book."

I scoffed and got into the driver's seat and drove away from St Francis. I'll just drop Morgan off at the park then I'll go on home. I couldn't let her see where I lived. I couldn't let her know anything about me other that what she sees at school. If so the outcome could be disastrous. She could die or even talk to the cops.

"So Jas when are you gonna introduce me to your boyfriend?" Morgan asked. "I know you have one. On most mornings you come to school with hickeys on your neck and sometimes I see you texting on your phone while you have this giddy smile on your face. "
