Daniel followed Blue out of the stairway as they both made haste to continue their journey upwards through Wasp hive.'Is it even called Wasp Hive anymore? I mean it's not like Wasp is ruling it.'
Daniel pondered but dismissed the thought as it was unimportant. However, it made him wonder why Blue had suddenly snapped down in the caverns.
'He killed one of Wasp's sisters in probably one of the most brutal ways possible, and didn't even flinch.'Daniel shivered momentarily as he looked before him to see Blue not too far ahead.
They ran up through the hive as fast as possible, completely ignoring the interior of the levels they went through.Blue looked back briefly to ensure Daniel was still keeping up with him.
"Come on Reaper! It won't be long before someone spots us, we need to get up as fast as possible"Blue picked up the pace and as such so did Daniel.
They rushed up further and further into the Hive... Not paying attention to their surroundings. However, Blue suddenly stopped in his tracks which caused Daniel to crash into him and almost topple them onto the ground.
"Why are we stopping!?" Daniel gasped, clearly tired but still desperate to get to the top as fast as possible.
Blue didn't say anything, instead, his eyes were closed and it looked like he was concentrating on something.
A few moments passed with nothing happening, then Blue spoke in a hushed voice.
"There's dragons up ahead... And I don't think they're friendly..."Daniel's eyes widened.
"Hivewing guards?"Blue nodded.
"I think so, but I don't know for sure, all I know is that these guys don't like them" He gestured to his antennas.Daniel nodded.
"Alright, so what's the plan, I doubt we're anywhere close to the top of the hive.Blue shook his head.
"We're only on the 8th floor I believe, Wasps's throne room is on the top floor so we have ways to go"
He let out a deep breath.
"Unfortunately I think the rest of the floors are going to be a challenge to get through... Though it's honestly a miracle we haven't run into anyone yet. Usually, all the floors of the Hive are swarming with dragons.""So where does that leave us?" Daniel asked rhetorically.
"Either we sneak up the rest of the floors which could take who knows how long, or we bust through and reach the top as fast as possible... But then we'd attract a whole bunch of unfriendly dragons to our location"Blue nodded.
"That's what it looks like... So.. What's the plan? You're the leader after all."Daniel pondered for a moment.
"We need to get back by sunrise to avoid suspicion... And I know for a fact that unless we speedrun this scroll business we probably won't make it..."
He let out a long breath.
"I don't think we have much of a choice except to go all out no matter who sees us"
Daniel took out his sickle and adjusted his hood.Blue nodded as he prepared himself, letting a small but very hot and bright strand of Violet flamesilk into his talon.
"Okay then... Well what are we waiting for"Daniel smiled.
"Get ready, things may get messy"
And with that, Daniel took the lead and bolted up the last ten or so remaining steps as he emerged on the seventh floor. As Blue predicted, there was a group of five Hivewing guards positioned not too far away from them.
They were talking about random things that Daniel couldn't be bothered to find out about. They immediately looked over to where Daniel was.
Their expressions shifted to a sort of surprise and confusion as they stopped talking to one another.
