FAYE SAT on the back of her father's motorbike, clinging onto him like glue. the group had just narrowly escaped the CDC and were now on the highway driving away.

"i swear, this is a safety hazard." faye spoke up as she lifted her head up from daryl's back. "there's walking dead people going around and this is what you're worried about?" daryl replied in disbelief. "plus, nothing was stopping ya from sitting with shane in the RV" he teased. he couldn't see his daughters face but he could tell it was a displeased one.

a few minutes later the RV infront of them comes to a halt. "oh jeez." faye muttered as she stared at the hundreds of cars blocking up the highway. faye and daryl drove a little ahead of the vehicles looking for an exit before circling back to the RV

"see a way through?" uncertainty filled dales voice as he spoke. Daryl nodded in response.

"uhh maybe we should just go back." glenn nervously suggested looking up from his map. "there's an interstate bypass.." he continued "we can't spare the fuel." dale interrupted.

faye huffed leaning her head back down onto daryl's back. admiring all the cars; some flipped over, burnt & smashed.

suddenly the rvs engine bursts "shit" faye jumped out her skin at the sudden noise. "language." daryl patted her shoulder as he helped her off the bike.

dale grumbled as he examined the RV. "problem dale?" shane placed his hands on his hips. "just a small matter of being stuck in the middle of nowhere with no hope of.. okay that was dumb." the man replied.

"i can siphon more fuel from these cars." T-dog spoke, walking towards daryl, who was scavenging from another car. "maybe some water or food?" carol suggested, protectively pulling her arm around sophia.

"this is a graveyard, i don't know how i feel about this." lori spoke up her hands on carl and faye's back. "come on yall, scatter around. gather what you can." t-dog instructed. "faye, stay where lori can see ya." daryl looked down at faye protectively. "yes daddy" she nodded

faye trailed next to carl, behind lori. the two 12 year olds glared at the dead people in the cars. in one car, a baby's car seat sat in the back, empty. faye's heart sank at the sight.

"kids, stop looking." carol ordered, guiding them infront of her. carol and lori started scavenging from two cars. carol held up a red shirt talking about how her husband, ed never let her wear things like that.

"faye, carl. always in my sight okay?" lori called out to the kids receiving nods in return. "Faye, look what i found!" carl beamed holding up a necklace with a small sliver fox pendant "that's so pretty" faye silently gasped. "here" carl smiled handing her the necklace. "thanks." she gave him a small tight lipped smile.

suddenly rick rushed up to lori "everyone under the cars!" he whisper-shouted. carl and faye crawled under the forest green car, making eye contact with sophia who was under the car next to them.

faye layed on her stomach, biting her bottom lip nervously. she could hear sophia's quiet whimpers, shallow breaths and the growls of the horde of walkers walking through the highway. her eyes stayed glued to the concrete below her as carl shuffled. "it's okay." faye mouthed to sophia trying to help her stay quiet.

minutes felt like hours, as everyone stayed hidden waiting for the horde to pass. eventually the growls got quieter and the footsteps further and further away. carl smiled at rick as sophia began to crawl out from under the car.

faye's eyes widened watching a walker turn around and begin crawling under the car due to the noise. sophia's cries attracted another walker while she crawled under the other side of the car and down off the highway into the woods, 2 walkers chasing after her.

rick quickly followed after them into the woods while everyone else crawled out from their spots. "there's two walkers after my baby" carol cried. "stay with lori, don't do anything stupid." daryl whispered quickly to faye before rushing after rick with shane by his side.

LATER ON shane returned with no sophia. faye bit her lip, listening to him order everyone to move the cars out the way so when daryl and rick sophia was found they could leave straight away.

carl and faye helped lori scavenge some more things while shane and t-dog and moved the cars out the way.

"she'll come back, she's smart." faye spoke up softly walking over to carol who was nervously pacing and glaring over at the woods. carol gave her a small smile "thank you, faith." she patted the girls head as faye walked away towards carl.

"whatcha doing?" faye tilted her head with her hands on her hips. "look what he's got." carl whispered pointing to the corpse in the car with an arsenal. "holy shit!" she beamed.

faye crawled into the car from the other side, helping carl take the arsenal from the corpse. "if you pull any harder this ugly thing is gonna fall on ya." faye warned carl, slightly annoyed at his impatience. but carl didn't listen, he tugged at the arsenal making the corpses body fall forward and carl to fall backwards with a shriek.

"i told ya" faye giggled rushing over to carls side to help him up. the two ran towards shane and lori, carrying the arsenal between the two. "we found something cool!" carl exclaimed placing it on the floor as faye stood by loris side.

"shane check it out!" carl opened the arsenal in excitement. "it's an arsenal!"

"that's cool, bud. go give it to dale." shane bluntly replied, not even looking up from the car he was working on.

"check this one out! woahh it's a hatchet." the brunette began swinging it around. "be careful with that." lori softly warned him. "they're really sharp" he continued "what did i just say?" lori placed her hand on carls shoulder, a hint of annoyance in her voice.

"can i keep one?" carl pleaded with his mom. "are you crazy?" lori furrowed her brows taking the hatchet from him.

"no way, shane tell her to let me keep them." carl looked up at shane "hey man, go give them all to dale now. go!" shane spat. carls face faded, tugging at faye's heartstrings as she watched him walk away. "prick." faye muttered crossing her arms and following carl.
