ITS BEEN SIX MONTHS since that day, the prisons community continues to grow bigger and stronger each day. they now had crops filling the fields, chickens, pigs, children receiving education, the armoury was growing each day after every supply run. everything was good.this morning faye was helping rick with the crops, taking carls duties due to him sleeping in from being up all night reading comics.
"didn't wake me up." carl spoke up as he walked down the gravelled path towards the two. "yeah, cause we knew you were up all night reading comics with a flash light." faye smiled, slightly teasing the boy.
"what's up with violet?" carl leant against the wire fence, glancing down at the pig that seemed to be sleeping. "carl, i told you not to name them. they're not piglets anymore, they're food." rick turned his attention to his son.
"i just thought.. you know until.. okay." he sighed, seeing the expression on his fathers face. "i don't know what's going on with her." the man answered his original question "could be sick, could be nothing."
rick clicked his tongue trying to get the pigs attention, but the pig didn't move. "feel better, violet." he told the pig, a small smile tugging at his lips at the name his son gave to the pig. "come on, let's get to work. fayes been pulling your weight." he patted his sons back, guiding him and the girl over to the crops.
a whistle gained the attention of the three "lets go." rick gestured to the gate. faye and carl ran ahead, pulling the rope together to open the gate, letting in michonne who was approaching on a horse.
"we're glad to see you." rick smiled at the woman "glad to see ya too." michonne replied. "somebody hit the jackpot." michonne smirked at carl as she reached into her bag, pulling out 3 comics. "no way.. thank you!" the boy beamed.
faye and carl stood by the horse, trying their best to eavesdrop on the conversation going on with the adults. all they could manage to understand is that michonne was going back out and rick was checking the snares.
"checking the snares?" he looked up at his dad for confirmation. "i am, you're not. do your chores, read comics maybe some books too" he playfully pushed his sons shoulder. "maybe even hang out with someone other than faye." he suggested, giving a teasing smirk. "shut up." the boy chuckled. faye was oblivious to the conversation going on between the two. she was too focused on the horse.
later on, carl and faye were making their way down to the other kids. most of them were a few years younger than them, not including patrick who was slightly older than them all. the girl noticed that a few of them were taunting the walkers and calling them real people names.
"you're naming them?" carl raised his eyebrows as he looked at the girls. "well, one of them has a name tag. so we thought all of them should." mika explained, a grin plastered onto her face.
"they had names when they were alive, they're dead now." faye placed her hand on her hip. "no, they're not. they're just different." lizzy narrowed her eyes as she glared at her.
"what the hell are you talking about? okay, they don't talk, they don't think. they eat people. they kill people." carl began to get frustrated at lizzys incapability to understand a walker. "people kill people, they still have names." lizzy spoke in a duh-tone.
