"we need these explosives." faye stated, placing her hand on her hip.

"yeah. but we have to figure out how to disarm them first." rick replied.

rosita quickly removed a drain cover, revealing the source of the deadly wire.

"uhh.. okay.." tara began to back away from her.

"i don't think backing up is gonna help you in any way if this thing goes kablooey." faye bluntly spoke.

"we've got ourselves a red situation. i need a search party. see if daryl ran home like the animal he is." negans voice staticed through the jesus' radio. "if he's there, kill his kid and make him watch."

faye's stomach churned at negan's voice. her chest felt tight and the panic kicked in.

"we've gotta go." michonne spoke up. "we've gotta get there before them."

the group began to take the explosives off the wire, faye's mind was so caught up in negans words she didn't even notice when carl called out to his dad, pointing down the highway at a large herd of walkers coming their way.

"okay! faye, carl, tara come on." rosita called out to the three to start moving the cars back.

rosita reversed as tara, carl and faye pushed the cars back to where they once were. faye looked back at the incoming herd. "they're getting closer." she alerted them. "we're gonna get cut off!"

the 4 ran back to the truck just as the walkers reached them. "dammit." carl panted as he got into the car. "we'll figure it out." rosita sighed.

faye watched as rick and michonne drove the wire down the highway, splitting the walkers in half. they quickly got out their cars and rushed into the truck and rosita sped off.

"it truely is a wonder how we're all still alive." faye broke the silence, leaning her head against carls shoulder as she watched the road go by out the window.

they arrived back to alexandria around an hour later. "lose the car?" tobin asked as he opened the gate. "it's somewhere safe." rick replied.

"you didn't find anything?" tobin caught up to rick, walking beside him. "No." rick spoke firmly.

"listen- we need to get everyone ready we-" rick began to speak before being interrupted by the roar of an engine.

everyone's head snapped around to the source of sound. it was negans men.

"rick! hello!" simon opened his arms welcomingly. "and.. hello again."

"we thought it'd be longer." rick shot daggers at the man with the very bad haircut.

"do you think we're here for a tribute?" simon slowly approached them.

"is there another reason?" rick asked.

"there is." simon nodded. "we're here for daryl."

"negan took daryl." rick feigned confusion.

"mmm.. but then your son showed up, daryl went missing.. might those two things be connected?" simon placed his hands on his hips.

"they're not." rick replied firmly. "we didn't know he was gone until now."

"then this should be easy." simon grinned.

"now, everyone find a buddy. gonna have to follow us around. if he's here, we really need you all to see him die." he sinisterly smiled. "especially you. sorry kid." he shrugged, placing his hand on faye's shoulder sending shivers down her spine.

faye and the others followed simon and a few other men around as he walked to the pantry. simon let out a whistle. "wow.."

"these are some bare shelving units." he ran his hands along the empty shelves. "you guys have a barbeque and not invite us? seriously, this is sad."

"we have a lot of people it's getting hard to find stuff and our main focus has been on finding things that negan might want." aaron explained.

it took a few hours for simon and some of negans men to search every part of alexandria. "thank you for your cooperation, rick." simon spoke as he to the gate.

noticing the emotionless expression across faye's face, simon placed a hand on her cheek. "cheer up, sweetheart. you and your daddy get to live another day!" he grinned.

"oh and rick, if daryl does show up.. two days from now, two months from now, hell, even two years from now. just know that there are no statue of limitations on this." simon poked his head out the window before driving off.

faye had enough for the day, asoon as the gates shut she walked off towards the infirmary. the building that'd been messed up the most.

she walked into building, turning on the light and admiring the messy room. tables and cabinets flipped over, glass shattered, pill bottles all over the floor.

the glass crunched beneath her feet as she reached for the broom. she let out a sigh as she began to sweep up the broken glass amongst other miscellaneous objects that'd been trashed onto the floor.

she continued to clean and pick up as the sound of the door opening startled her. "just me." carl raised his hands up in surrender. "scared me." faye sighed, placing the broom against the wall.

"thought id find you here." carl leant against a desk. "yeah, well they wrecked this place and my dad is the reason so I'm sorta responsible for the damage" she shrugged.

"whatcha thinking about." carl furrowed his brows. faye's excuse didn't make sense and he often knew faye would do spontaneous cleans when she had alot of on her mind.

"if they.. if they find my dad. they're gonna kill him no doubt about it." she began to explain. "i can't lose anyone else especially not him."

"i guess i'm just scared." she admitted. faye wasn't the type of person to admit fear, only when it got to a certain point. carl had only heard faye admit she was scared 4 times in knowing her.

"what if we never get the numbers to take down the saviours? i mean- negan is apart of our lives forever now and all he's going to do is take and take and not only our food but the lives of people-" faye rambled before being interrupted from a kiss from carl.

"we'll be fine faye." he tucked her hair behind her ear. "i love you"

faye's gaze fell soft upon carl at his words, sure, she knew he did but him admitting it made everything feel real. a small grin tugged at her lips as she murmured. "i love you too."
