"oh, hey" faye muttered as she walked into the home she shared with carol and daryl, noticing carol sat on the couch. "hey, you. aren't you supposed to be 'exploring'?" she furrowed her brows, watching as the younger girl sat beside her.

"it's boring on my own" she stated, fidgeting with her fingers. "where's carl?" carol asked, placing the book that she was reading down. "meeting some lady's kids or something" faye replied with a huff.

"what's going on between you two anyway?" carol gave the girl a knowing smirk. faye shrugged, fighting the smile that tugged at her lips. "oh, come on faye. everyone can see how you guys look at eachother." carol raised her eyebrows.

"he's confusing" faye let out a sigh. "he doesn't like me but he kissed me?" she admitted, her eyes widening once she realised what she'd said. "wait- slow down. he kissed you?! does your dad know about this?" carols eyes widened.

"my dad would kick him in the teeth if he knew so no" faye giggled.

"your secrets safe with me." carol smiled, zipping her lips.

the next day went past, alexandria started getting slightly overwhelming for faye. today she decided to sneak out of alexandria over the wall, just to go on a walk and clear her mind.

however, her alone time didn't last long as after around 5 minutes of being outside the walls, carl called out for her.

"faye, what the hell are you doing" the boy stood a few feet away from her. "walking?" she looked at him like he was stupid. carl shook his head in annoyance, catching up to her "it's dangerous, ya know?" he stated. "no shit, sherlock. there's dead people walking." she muttered.

"why are you actually out here?" he looked at her, his expression serious and concerned. "it's weird inside there." she shrugged, staring at the ground. "i feel misplaced." she explained. "i'm better out here"

"just cause you're good out here doesn't mean you belong out here. you know that right?" carl tilted his head, his gaze soft upon the girl. faye shrugged, she wanted to believe him but she couldn't help but feel like she was no good anywhere but outside.

the two walked around the woods, their hands intertwined as they talked about random things. a snap of a twig gained their attentions, their heads snapped around quickly, faye's hand went for her knife as she walked closer to the sound.

peering around a tree, she spotted a brown haired girl wandering around the woods. "it's that enid girl." faye whispered, slightly relieved it wasn't a psycho cannibal or a walker. "whys she out here" carl furrowed his brows in confusion. faye shrugged, interlocking their hands again and began to head back to alexandria.

on their way back, the growls of walkers gained their attention. carl peered around the building, spotting his dad. the two walked up to the man in confusion.

the three looked at eachother, then at the 4 incoming walkers. faye pulled out her knife, approaching the furthest walker and plunging it into its head. a cold bony hand reached for her shoulder, faye gasped, quickly turning around, struggling to get her knife into its head. rick quickly grabbed the walker and stabbing its head.

"you okay?" he placed his hands on the side of her arms. "yeah." faye muttered, sliding her knife into her waistband.

when the three arrived back at alexandria. glenn was arguing with one of the alexandria members.

"well then we're just as screwed as your last run crew." glenn spat, glaring at the man.

"say that again." the man inched closer.

"no, back off aiden." tara spoke up.

the man, now known as aiden pushed glenn back. "come on, tough guy."

"no one's impressed, man. walk away." glenn muttered.

"aiden!" deanna yelled as she stormed over to the men. "what is going on?"

"this guys got a problem with the way we do things." aiden never took his eyes off of glenn.

"why'd you let these people in." he turned to deanna.

"because we actually know what we're doing out there." glenn's tone was filled with annoyance.

suddenly, aiden turned around and attempted to throw a punch at glenn, soon being humbled from glenn ducking it and giving it right back to him.

"holy shit" faye muttered as she watched her dad tackle aiden to the ground. in which, rick quickly ran over to pull daryl off.

"i want everyone to hear me, okay?" deanna spoke up. "rick and his people are apart of this community now in all ways as equals. understood?"

"all of you turn in your weapons and then you two come talk to me." she pointed to glenn and aiden.

faye watched as deanna talked with rick, michonne and daryl. noticing how daryl stormed off. "dad? you okay?" faye called out. "drop it, faye." he spat, harsher than he meant it to as he walked away. "the fuck?" faye muttered turning to carl in confusion.

that night, everyone sat around the living room once again for the third night. rick walked down the stairs in a police uniform that made faye laugh on the inside. "faye where's your dad?" rick asked. "on the porch." she replied.

she watched as rick walked onto the porch, shutting the door behind him, followed by carol who did the same. faye, being the nosey girl she was, waited a moment before walking out the front door, quietly shutting it and eavesdropping on them.

"i think we can all start sleeping in our own houses, get settled." rick stated.

"we get settled, we get weak. this place will make us weak." carol muttered.

"that's what carl said." rick crossed his arms.

"faye, too." daryl took a drag of his cigarette.

"we won't get weak. that's not in us anymore." rick looked over the railing.

faye internally sighed at ricks blindness. sneaking back in the front door, clicking it shut and returning to her seat on the floor. "what'd he say?" carl looked over to her. "that he wants us all to 'settle' and this place won't make us weak." she scoffed.
