"your name?" deanna sat across from faye, a camera pointed directly at the younger girl. "faith, faith dixon." she replied, her eyes darting from the camera to deanna. "don't worry about that, it's mandatory." she gave the girl a small reassuring smile."how long have you been out there?" she asked.
"since the beginning." faye replied, picking at her nails.
"how long have you been with your group?"
"depends who you're talking about" she shrugged. "rick, glenn, carl, my dad, carol.. since the beginning. the others we just met along the way."
"interesting." deanna wrote something down on her notepad. "do you think it would be good for you to be in here."
"it'll be good for judith.. it would be good if she could grow up with some normality." the girl began to explain before being cut off.
"not judith- i asked do you think it will be good for YOU." the woman pointed at her with her pen.
faye stayed quiet for a moment before giving her a shrug in response. "i don't know." she mumbled.
after interviews, aaron took carol, daryl and faye to their house. once he'd left, faye admired the modern looking house. marble counters, pearly, white cabinets, working lights.. all things faye had missed out on.
"this is so weird." faye muttered, leaning against the counter and turning on the tap. "how so?" carol smiled, checking out the house. "even before all this, our house wasn't this 'fancy' " she explained, referring to the modern style.
she wandered upstairs, opening the door to which lead her to her now-forever bedroom. the walls were white with baby pink bedding. faye placed her backpack onto the hardwood floors, walking around her room taking it all in. sat on the painted white, wooden dresser was a small pile of clothes and a towel. she immediately took the clothes, walking into the bathroom and started the shower.
after her shower she changed into her new clothes, wiping the steam off the mirror, she stared into her reflection. she didn't recognise herself anymore, she wasn't the same person she was back at the refuge camp and doesn't think she ever will be. wiping a stray tear from her cheek, she began brushing out her hair, something she'd been wishing to do for weeks.
after around 30 minutes in the bathroom, she headed onto the porch of ricks house, where daryl sat on the railing while rick, carl and carol stood around. "you look like faye again" he muttered, looking up at his daughter. "i feel like faye again." she shrugged.
carl looked over at carol, faye and daryl's house. "you can go look, just be quick." rick told his son, who immediately headed over to the house, carol and faye following behind.
"these are like mansions." carl stated, a grin plastered on his face as he looked around the house. "mhmm and they're just giving them away." carol replied "yall coming?" she called out before she left. "yeah, just a sec." faye muttered.
creaking from upstairs gained the two teens attention. out of instinct, they crept up the stairs, faye reached for her pocket knife as carl opened the door to a room neither had seen yet.
swinging open the door, the two instantly relaxed as they saw it was just an unfinished room, a few pens, cds and comics spread about. 'probably from the last people who lived here.' she thought.
