a few weeks past since that horrific day. carl was now awake and healing, the two teens still spent every single second together and pretty much everyone caught onto their relationship pretty quickly.

carl bounced a tennis ball onto the wall repeatedly, making faye look up from her comic with an annoyed expression. he looked over at her, holding back his laugh before continuing to bounce it.

"carl." michonne called out. "what? denise said this is PT." he replied.

"i can't hear you. come on out." rick chimed in. "what?" he opened his bedroom door, bouncing the ball between his hands.

"denise says this is PT." they both spoke in sync. "you heard me." carl mumbled.

"come on. it's time to change your bandage. and i need to borrow some toothpaste." michonne told him.

"okay but i'm out of toothpaste." he murmured. "bye dad." he tossed the tennis ball over to his father before following michonne into the bathroom.

faye sighed quietly as she flipped the page. she felt envious of carl sometimes, he had a functioning household. a dad who actually ENJOYED his company and michonne who acted motherly towards him and judith. she yearned for a household like that. daryl was never home and when he was, he was distant and dismissive. and carol was always busy.

she figured that's why she loved being over the grimes' house. not only because she got to spend time with carl but because the house was full of love.

a few hours later, the two trailed through the woods quietly. "why are we coming out here?" faye broke the silence.

they hadn't been out the walls since the day the 'w' people got through the walls.

"cause we're kids." carl replied with a shrug. "that's what they do."

"we're not kids." she huffed.

they sat down in their spot. the spot they always hung out in. her finger traced along the 'c + f' carved across the log beside them when a snap of a twig came from the distance.

she two stayed silent, sitting up, more alert of their surroundings as they clutched onto their guns. in the distance was michonne and spencer, wandering the woods.

"what the fuck are they doing out here." she furrowed her brows.

"walking.. i don't know." he replied, sitting back down.

"i'm going back home." she muttered, picking up her backpack and slinging it over her shoulder. "wait for me." he called out as he placed his hat back onto his head.

they slowly headed back towards alexandria. "everything feels so weird again." faye admitted. carl was about to reply before a growl of a walker gained their attention. her head snapped around, meeting gaze with a walker wearing familiar clothes.

"michonnes out here. we can't leave it." she stated, sliding her knife out her waistband. carl whistled to gain the walkers attention. the walker slowly turned around, letting out a growl and revealing their identity. it was deanna.

faye's heart sank as she realised who it was. "hey, come on." carl called out to the monster, leading it towards them.

"last time you did this we almost died." faye furrowed her brows, reminding him of the eventful day that occurred a few months ago. "just kill it."

"we're not killing it." he sternly stated, leaving no room for discussion.

she let out a sigh before speaking again. "you're so stupid. come on!" she called out to the walker, gaining its attention again.

carl took the lead, faye followed close behind as they lead the walker towards michonne and spencer. once they got close enough, they quickly ran off as the walkers attention locked onto michonne and spencer.

"you agree that it should've been spencer to kill her, right?" carl spoke up as they walked towards alexandria. faye shrugged in response. "come on faye, it's supposed to be a loved one. i'd do it for you" he furrowed his brows, turning to look at his girlfriend.

〰️

a few hours later, night fell upon alexandria. faye sat on the grimes' porch, listening to carl talk to baby judith about the stars. it took her back to the many conversations carl, faye and lori would have back at the camp and the farm about the stars.

"hey." michonne muttered as she walked up the porch. "you two had a good day?" she leant against the railing. "faye, your dad should be back anytime now." she informed the girl, making her stand up and begin to head home. she glanced back at carl, giving him a small smile as she headed towards the house.

her black boots grazed across the gravel as she headed towards the small white house. "i'm backk" she called out as she shut the front door, peering her head into the door way of the living room. meeting eyes with daryl, who sat comfortably on the couch, staring at his boots.

"how was your day?" she leant in the doorway.

"hm." he murmured in response.

"are you alright?" she furrowed her brows.

"hm." he repeated.

faye let out a frustrated sigh "nice talk, dad" she sarcastically remarked before storming off to her room.

she sat by her windowsill, lost in her own world when she noticed an unfamiliar man entering the grimes' house. she quickly rushed to her feet, grabbing her gun and knife and informing daryl on her way out the house.

the others must've also seen this man as when faye got to their house, abraham, glenn and maggie were also there.

daryl swung open the door, everyone quickly rushed to the stairs, pulling their guns up and aiming it at the long haired man who sat on the stairs. "it's okay." rick gestured for them to put down their weapons. "you wanted to talk. so let's talk." he turned his attention to the man.

everyone sat around the table, keeping their eyes on the stranger as he spoke. "i check out your arsenal. i haven't seen anything like that in a long time."

"you're well equipped but your provisions are low." he stated.

"very low for the amount of people you have. 54?" he raised his brows.

"more than that." maggie crossed her arms.

"well thank you for the cookie. my compliments to the chef." he nodded, looking up at daryl.

"yeah, well, she ain't here." he grumbled.

"look, we got off to a bad start. but we're on the same side. the living side. you and rick had every reason to leave me out there, but you didn't. i'm from a place that's alot like this one." he admitted.

there were more communities like alexandria? there were more living humans?

"part of my job is searching out other settlements to trade with. i took your truck because my community needs things." he explained, looking around at everyone.

"you're not the only one you greedy shit." faye spat, crossing her arms.

"faith." daryl spoke in a warning tone making her roll her eyes.

"i think our communities may be in a position to help each other." the man revealed.
