a few days had past since that day at the outpost. carl had grown much more protective over faye, he'd beat himself up about not coming on that mission, preventing her from getting taken by those people. sure, faye's tough, she can handle herself but you've got to protect the woman you love right? atleast that's what shane told him.

meanwhile, faye hadn't seen her dad all day. yesterday, a group stopped rosita, daryl and denise in the middle of the road and had killed denise. faye didn't understand why denises' death hit daryl so hard but she couldn't talk to him about it due to how he'd been acting lately.

she sat on the porch of the grimes' house, alongside carl and judith. faye sat on the floor with judith, colouring in with a red crayon as judith gave her strict instructions on where to colour.

quickly, news spread around about maggie having some pregnancy complications. rick decided it was best that the group took her up to hilltop where she could get checked up on by an actual doctor.

"you're not coming with us, faye." carl stated as he stuffed his bag full of ammunition and weapons.

"the fuck? yeah i am" faye furrowed her brows.

"you know how far the hilltop is? you know what could happen?" carl turned around, meeting eyes with his girlfriend who looked at him in disbelief.

"those saviours are out there. you know what they did to denise, what they tried to do with maggie, carol, to your dad, to rosita, to eugene, to you? that's not happening again, nobody's harming you again." he told her, his tone firm and leaving no room to argue.

"i'll be fine." faye muttered as she placed her gun into her holster.

carl looked at her, he knew her well enough to know she'd go whether she had to walk or come with the others in the RV. he let out a sigh before speaking. "please just be safe and don't do anything reckless?"

"can't promise it." she shrugged as she walked out the door.

the journey started off as smooth as it could. faye rested her head on carls shoulder as she watched rick head to the back of the RV to check on maggie. she prayed it was nothing very very serious, just some extreme kicks or something.

the RV came to a strange stop in the middle of the road. faye's heart sank as she looked out the windshield, meeting gaze with a group of men with a very injured man on the floor infront of them.

"enemy close." abraham announced.

rick swung open the door to the RV, raising his hands in surrender as the others followed him out.

"he's someone with a whole lot of someone's that didn't listen." a man known as simon spoke up.

"we can make a deal, right here, right now." rick told him.

"yeah, we can. give us all your stuff." simon demanded. "we'll probably have to kill one of you, that's just the way it is but then we can start moving forward with business."

"yeah.. well that deal isn't gonna work for us. i was just about to ask for all your stuff." rick sucked his teeth.

everything went silent for a moment before a man who stood besides simon, stepped forward while shaking a can of spray paint. he knelt down to the injured man at his feet and spray painted an 'x' onto him.

"sorry, the only deal is my deal. we won't negotiate." simon shrugged.

rick nodded as he gave a hand signal to his group behind him to say "let's go." inwhich, the group got the memo and began to head back into the RV. "me and my people are leaving."

they continued on their journey, this time everyone on edge and tense. the RV began to slow down again, faye sat up to look out the windshield spotting many more people standing infront of their cars.

they discussed for a few moments, not losing eye contact with the people a few feet ahead. rick decided they were out numbered, they couldn't take them all right now.

"go slow." he told abraham who began slowly reversing.

they continued down the next possible route. faye leant her head against the window, her hands shakey and leg bouncing  as she imagined every possible outcome of tonight.

"hey, we're gonna be fine." carl whispered, placing his hand over her shaking ones.

the RV came to another stop. this time there were no people in sight. just some walkers, chained up.

faye followed the others out the RV, cautiously holding her gun ready to shoot if needed.

"come on. let's do this." rick nodded, gesturing to the chained up walkers.

"dad." carl called out

"that's michonnes." aaron pointed to hair strapped to one of the walkers.

"that's daryls." sasha referred to an arrow plunged into another walker.

rick ripped michonnes hair from the walkers head angrily. he raised his axe about to take out the walker before some gunfire let out down by their feet.

"GET BACK TO THE RV!" rick yelled.

faye waited for everyone else to get in the RV, staying behind with rick shooting up at the people.

just as she got in the RV, slamming the door behind her, a bullet hit the door. she was THAT close to getting shot just from trying to help.

she sat down beside carl, catching her breath as the RV sped off. the RV let out a loud screeching noise.

"what the fuck is that" faye furrowed her brows.

"the undercarriage could've caught a bullet. or it could be transmission. or it could be nothing." eugene explained.

"they were firing at our feet. they blocked the road but they weren't trying to stop us. they want us in this direction." rick chimed in, he seemed angry. like he wanted to kill. he had the same look on his face the day the claimers attacked.

"you okay?" faye mumbled, looking at her boyfriend with eyes full of exhaustion and concern.

"ask me tomorrow." he replied.

"rick." abraham called out for the man.

the car slowed once again, it felt like they were in a loop.

the enemies had now tripled, standing intimidatingly and waiting for the group.

"go back." rick spoke in a hushed tone.

"where?" abraham blankly stared at the road ahead.
