THE NEXT MORNING, faye woke up to rick opening the gate, alongside t-dog, maggie, glenn and daryl. she rushed to her feet, rushing over to hershel and carl who were watching them.

"are they trying to kill themselves?" faye said, rubbing her eyes. hershel instructed her to go down the fence and make noise with the others to distract the walkers.

she stood by beth, banging on the fence with her machete, yelling random things to attract the walkers to her and then taking them out.

once every walker had been taken out, rick and the others pushed into the building. "it's a wonder how we're all still alive" the girl muttered.

minutes felt like hours as the others waited for ricks group to come back outside, alive. soon enough glenn came outside, leading them into the prison.

"what do you think?" ricks voice echoed as he walked down the stairs. "home sweet home." glenn sarcastically remarked.

"it's secure?" faye crossed her arms, as she peered into the cells. "this cellblock is." rick replied.

"in the morning, we'll find the cafeteria, the infirmary." he explained. "we'll sleep in the cells?" beth asked

"i found some keys on the guard, daryl has a set too" faye turned her attention back to rick at the mention of her dad.

"i ain't sleeping in no cage. ill take the perch." daryl muttered.

faye took some of loris bags to ease the woman's heavy lifting. she watched as lori whispered something to rick, only for him to give her the cold shoulder. the girl furrowed her brows at the sight, feeling sympathetic for the woman.

she dropped the bags in the woman's cell, before finding an empty cell for herself. she placed her ragged backpack on the dusty floor.

she took a seat on the bottom bunk, staring at the plain grey concrete wall. this was home for now.

rick layed out everything they'd scavenged from the armoury. faye watched intently, her hand on her hip.

she turned her attention to carl who had put on one of the helmets. "you're gonna catch a disease. or lice. or both." she looked at him in disgust. "yep and i'll make you catch them too" he grinned as he removed it

"you won't need that." rick stated, taking the helmet out his sons hands. "i need you to stay put."

"you're kidding." he looked up at his dad in disbelief and annoyance. "we don't know what's in there. something goes wrong, you could be the last man standing. i need you to handle things here." rick told him, leaving no room for arguement.

"sure" he nodded taking the keys from his fathers hands. carl shut the door, locking it before giving his mom a slight nod as she watched him with a slight sense of pride.

it had only been around 20 minutes when sounds of distress broke the quiet, calm atmosphere.

the group were back, this time rolling an unconscious hershel on a table. "open the door!!!" rick yelled

carl and faye darted up from their seat on the stairs, where they'd been playing uno. carl unlocked the door letting rick and the others back in.

horror filled faye's eyes once she saw the wound where hershel's leg once was. she rushed to every un-used cell, ripping the sheets off the beds and returning to the others

"here." she handed lori the bundle of bed sheets to possibly help stop the bleeding.

the girl stepped out of the cell, joining her dad who was aiming his crossbow at the open door.
