"hey, was just about to look for ya" rick noticed the 3 returning. "sorry." faye muttered as she helped carl carry a crib. "it's alright." he reassured the young girl.

as they walked back to the car, they noticed the stranger, now known as morgan jones to be finishing off the walkers that were stuck in traps and placing their dead bodies on stretchers. "he's okay?" michonne raised her brows. "no, no he's not." rick muttered.

"wait. hey!" carl called out to morgan, making everyone's attention land on him. "i had to shoot you. you know i had to right? i'm sorry." he apologised.

"hey, son. don't ever be sorry." he told the younger boy. faye could tell morgan had seen and had to do things worse than she could even imagine. he truely intrigued faye, she wanted to know more about him, his story.

they loaded the car with everything they've scavenged. faye and carl climbed into the backseats, small grins plastered on their faces as they waited for michonne and rick to finish loading up the last things.

the drive back to the prison was quiet, everyone drained from the day they'd had. faye rested her head against the window watching as her surroundings raced by.

today rick and the governor were having a meeting. hershel and daryl tagged along, knowing the governor almost always had some sort of trick up his sleeve.

the others back at the prison were admiring everything carl, faye, rick and michonne had scavenged the day prior, reloading each gun and planning on places to stash them.

"carl, come here." glenn called for the boy "stash these at the loading dock" he handed the boy a box of bullets. "i'll go work on the cage outside." he picked up a blow torch and a few other tools.

"what we should be doing is loading some of this firepower in a truck and paying a visit to the governor." merle spoke up, leaning against the wall. "are you suggesting that we just go in and kill him?" glenn looked at him in disbelief, wondering how this man could even think for a second that they were in a good situation to do something like that right now. "yeah, i am." merle glared at him.

"we told rick and daryl that we'd stay put." michonne turned around, reminding the man. "i've changed my mind, sweetheart." he looked at her in annoyance

"whatcha say faye? you and your old unc ending this shit once and for all?" he placed his hand on the girls shoulder making her shrug him off. "no thanks."

"three of them are in the middle of it right now. no idea we're coming. they could be taken hostage or killed a thousand things could go wrong." glenn explained, getting annoyed at the man. if it was up to glenn or faye, merle wouldn't of even stepped foot in the prison. "and they will." merle replied snarkily.

"my dad can take care of himself." carl spat, his eyes shooting daggers at the man before he left the building. "sorry son, but your dads head could be on a pike real soon." merle bitterly spat back.

"don't say that to him." faye turned around to look her uncle dead in the eyes, infuriated at his inconsideration. "what, ya got a crush on the cowboys kid or something?" merle chuckled. "it's just common decency." she turned around to get back to her task.

"you've gone soft, faith. can't even look your poor uncle in the eyes without looking shaking like a leaf." he scoffed, his voice dripping with mockery. "used to be as tough as nails. you're nothing like that now. you're just a little girl now, sensitive and soft." he said, his voice growing sharper.

she just rolled her eyes, her back stayed turned to him as she tried her best to focus on her task at hand, his words flooding her head breaking down her walls she'd put up so many years ago to protect herself from her uncles harsh words. she slammed the gun she was working on down on the table and stormed back to her cell. his words used to never effect her so why did they hurt so bad now?

daryl, hershel and rick returned an hour later. faye leant against the concrete wall, an angry, frustrated expression plastered onto her face. "what's up with you?" daryl furrowed his brows at the sight of his daughter so worked up. "your brothers a cunt and i hate him" she bluntly responded.

daryl took a moment to process his daughters words, what could merle have said to her under her skin this bad? "come on." softly grabbed her shoulder, guiding her into the prison along with the others.

rick got everyone gathered up in the cell block, "so i talked to this governor. sat with him for quite awhile." rick began, slightly pacing. "just the two of ya?" merle asked, a hint of curiosity in his tone.

"yeah." rick nodded. "should've gone when we had the chance, bro." faye heard her uncle whisper to glenn, making her tense up. "he wants the prison." rick announced, turning everyone's attention back onto him. "he wants us gone. dead." he added.

"he wants us dead for what we did to woodbury. we're going to war."

the young girl sat in her cell, lost in her own thoughts when carls voice broke her out her trance. "hey." he muttered, sitting down next to her on the bunk. "whatcha doing?" he furrowed his brows, looking at the blank wall that she was so intently staring at. "just thinkin" she softly replied, turning her head to look at him.

"you're worried about the governor aren't you?" he assumed, reading the girl like a book. faye never understood how the boy always knew what she was thinking or how she was feeling before she could even speak. "you're not?" she raised her brows. "nah, i am. it's just unusual for you to be so obviously worried about something. usually you hide it." he chuckled, making her grin and roll her eyes playfully.

her smile warmed the boys heart, seeing her happy made him happy. he admired her smile, the way her eyes lit up and the way her face softened. he could feel his cheeks burning up, silently praying she was too lost in thought to realise.
