Kat finished writing his notes, even after the bell rang and he heard everyone get up, too lost in their own conversations to even notice that he was slowly closing his books and putting his stuff in his bag. He wondered what it may be like to converse with friends after classes, and he even wondered if everyone would go out for dinner again and 'forget' to even try to invite him. He wouldn't wanna go anyway, right, so what was the point of asking?
Sometimes he wished they'd just ask. Just ask him if he'd like to go out to the mall, or to the park down the street, or maybe even to that restaurant down the street everyone said was so good. Even if he would say no, because he was too busy studying or working out, it would be nice to be asked every once and a while.
He stood up after everyone had left, walking through the halls and out of the building to their dorms across campus, quietly wishing Aizawa a good afternoon before he stepped out into the less crowded halls. Everyone was always itching to go home or their dorm, especially on a Friday like today, so all that was in the hall were lingering introverts, or just friends chatting at lockers while waiting for that one friend to finish putting their stuff away and grabbing the books they'd need that night.
He may have been a dangerous, villain-esque kid, but he never wished bad to his teachers, especially Aizawa. He knew what he'd gone through for their safety during hero duties, or even random attacks by bitch ass villains, so he always went out of his way to wish him a good morning and afternoon each day. He slowly walked down the hall, shoving his earbuds in his ears and turning it up nearly all the way before shoving his hands in his blazer pockets and looking slightly downward ahead of him. He didn't wanna make eye contact with any of these people, he just knew they were all looking at him as he walked by, silent with a relaxed expression as he listened to "poisonous waters" by Powfu.
He didn't quite understand what happened. He used to have people talking to him every day, in elementary and middle school, asking to be his "friend" and for him to teach them how he was so powerful and cool. Now, he only had people calling him a villain, even after he'd apologized to Deku and stopped being so rude. It was like he had bored his classmates, tiring them from him within their first year. Now, in their second year, he wasn't sure what had happened. Everyone went home for the summer, some even hung out because they'd become close enough friends, but Bakugou had stayed home all summer, even letting his parents go off to other countries for his father's fashion job. He didn't want to go, jetlag sucked, and he would've asked some classmates to hang out with him, but he was awkward and didn't know how.
And, just like that, two months of loneliness with his parents checking in every couple weeks before taking off for another couple weeks, turned into three, and then four. Four months of being surrounded by classmates that had once considered him a friend, considered him one of them, yet none had exchanged meaningful words with him. All he'd gotten was "could you switch seats with Mina?" And the weekly check in from his teachers. They'd all noticed that Katsuki was happy, almost excited to be around people the first couple days of school. But, it seemed everyone else was too wrapped up in their friendships that had strengthened during the summer, even a couple relationships had bloomed. Kat had gotten quiet, which only few classmates noticed. His teachers worried for him, thinking he had a falling out with the class, but there was none. Aizawa was probably the last person he'd had a conversation with, as his parents were out of town for the next month and a half in America at some sort of convention.
Part of Kat wished he'd gone, but he wanted to stay for school and his hero training. So much that turned out to be. He arrived to the dorms, only to notice that most of the class was in the common room playing monopoly, cheering Tokoyami on when he got in a heated argument with Hanta about rent on one of his spots. Apparently Hanta hadn't noticed that Tokoyami landed on his Boardwalk, and the rule was that you had to tell that player sometime during their turn that they owed you whatever the rent was. Mina was JUST about to pick up the dice when Hanta noticed it, and Tokoyami was arguing about it.
