I am kind of having a low day, so here is an update

*** Yashoda ***

"I really don't seem to understand the mystery of the green saree Madhava," I said as I joined my hands infront of the lord in the temple, "And the curiosity is killing my heart. Please give me an answer."

The moment I finished that sentence I heard the temple bells ring and turned around to find.....Vishnu anna!

He took a step forward, offered his respects to God before turning to me.

"What is my little sister so intensely talking to god about?" he asked.

"The mystery of the green saree anna," I replied.

"And what's the mystery of the green saree?" he asked curiously.

"General sir is obsessed with it," I replied, "If I make a mistake, green saree! If he is happy, green saree! If we are going somewhere, green saree!"

"Really?" Vishnu anna asked surprised.

I nodded. "And I can't seem to figure out why," I added.

"Hmm," Vishnu anna continued to think, "Yashoda what color were you wearing when he first saw you that day?" he asked, "At the river?"

"That day...." I thought to myself. "Green anna," I answered.

"Oh God," Vishnu anna said surprised, "Kanda is a victim of the southern curse too."

"Southern curse?" I asked confused, "What's that?"

"Long story," Vishnu anna signed, "Want to sit somewhere and talk?"

"Yes," I nodded and we both sat at one corner of the temple and Vishnu anna began narrating

"Long long ago, there once lived a southern man full of pride. No matter what people said, he believed he is the best. One day while he was wandering in the forest, he came across an angel, disguised as a hunter. He watched as the angel shot arrows and shouted "I can do better." The angel intially ignored but he shouted again "I can do better."

Furious, the angel challenged him for a competition, on the condition that if he looses he  needs to accept that he is not the best. As expected, the Southern man lost and the angel asked him to fulfil his side of the deal. Not wanting to let go of his pride, the Southern man decided to run away. This angered the angel who cursed the Southern man that he would loose all his pride and believe that everyone else is superior to him.

The Southern man quickly realized his mistake and begged the angel for forgiveness. "It's not a fault to love oneself," he argued in despair and stated that he isn't harming anyone with his self obsession. Morever, he never believed himself to be superior to Godly beings, so had he known who the angel was, he wouldn't have said those words. The angel took pity and gave him a chance. He said that the Southern man still needs to find atleast something superior to himself and asked the Southern man to choose.

The clever Southern man began to think. He realized that Southerners are considered best in everything except for the way they treat their women. Northereners somehow always seem to take the title of the best husbands, but again, he doesn't want to always consider his wife superior...only sometimes so he came up with the idea.

So he replied, "Oh angel, please curse me to be obsessed with the looks of my wife when I see her for the first time. I will happily surrender my pride at her feet."

"And since then," Vishnu anna concluded, "rumour is that all southern men are obsessed with the way they see their wife for the very first time."

"Woww," I exclaimed surprised, "This is unbelivable."
