Hi lovelies, want to clarify a few things ~ In the last chapter, the traitor was about to attack Pritham, but Vinod threw the sword into his shoulder before he could do that and closed Vivek's eyes before throwing his weapon to ensure he isn't traumatized. Hence Vivek felt his eyes being closed, something swung past him and then the blood shed. Sorry, should've made it more obvious.

The last chapter has more votes in the poll than votes for the chapter. I know the emotions are high but please vote, our book used to be in top 10 everytime I update but for the last 6 months, it's barely getting any new readers.

Your votes matter more than you think...please vote!!!

Also love all the comments you've tagged me in before, please keep doing it and don't feel bad for tagging too many times. I am your biggest fan girl, I don't mind it at all :)

I will taking screenshots of those comments and will put it either in the last chapter or in Royal Chameleons and while you are at it and as this book comes to an end

Please please consider following me and joining the Enchanted family ❤️

More than books, we are all about supporting each other and bringing each other up and I would love to have as many of my lovelies as I can in it. Please give it a consideration!!

Let's move on to the chapter now, this chapter has 4000+ words and ends with a question so make sure you read till the end ❤️

Target for next chapter: 1200 votes and 750 comments

My eyes were filled with tears as I looked at my baby, wrapped in a soft cotton cloth and placed inside the cradle, with only his tiny face visible. He looked so peaceful, his eyes closed, almost as if he were sleeping and not... I didn't even want to think the word. Death is not a word that should ever be associated with babies.

I gently ran my finger across his cheek, and my hand shivered at the touch. My heart desperately hoping that he might somehow magically wake up, look at me, smile at me... my baby...

"General sir," I heard a soft voice from behind.

It was my mother-in-law.

I wiped my tears, took a deep breath, and looked at her.

"Is..." my voice broke, the sorrow making it hard to form words, "Is Yashu alright?"

"Better than before," she replied gently. "She is putting her bundle of joy to sleep."

Relief washed over me. I nodded, but the heaviness in my chest remained.

"Are you okay?" she asked softly.

I shook my head.

"I... I didn't even want a child," I whispered. "I was happy—just me and Yashu, our little world... but then..." My voice cracked again. I drew in a shaky breath to summon courage. "But then... when she... she told me she was pregnant... something changed..."

"I thought..." I added, "that..." I breathed deeply, trying to suppress a sob, "I thought perhaps... my mother would come back to me... in the form of my child... but..."

I glanced at her and saw tears welling in her eyes too.

"I deserve it, though," I murmured, looking away. "I've committed too many sins... and maybe... maybe that's why my mother thought I was not worthy of her presence... but..."

I paused, then turned to Yashu's mother.

"She could've... she could've at least come back to slap me, right?" I asked, wiping my tears and forcing myself not to break down. "Hit me, scold me, and tell me how unworthy I am of her presence... and then leave me?"
